The motor is tight on the truck, less than 50,000miles since rebuild. The fuel pump went and we replaced it recently, also replaced the fuel pressure regulator. Did a compression check and had 100psi in all cyliders. Put compessed air to all cylinders individually with each @ TDC and had no air out tailpipe, oil breather or upper intake. All injectors are clicking.Any other ideas?

You have very bad problems here. fuel is getting out of the cylander walls where combustion should take place. this means a total rebuid, rehoning the cylander walls in the block, and possibly bigger pistns needed.
if your running okay, just try to keep the oil changed and run it till it wears out. sometimes you can get a few years like this.

Location of fuel pump relay on 89 ford ranger 2.9 v6

It's powered by fuse #1 in the battery fuse box, so I would think it should be right there somewhere. If it isn't labeled, see if you can turn the box over to see where fuse #1 leads to.

I bought a 89 2.9L v6 ford ranger that had been sitting for two years. it started right up and i drove it around for three weeks but the it died suddenly while driving, i got it to start a couple of times...

i hope you changed all the fluids. New oil, coolent, trans. oil and draind all the old fuel. if not the fuel injecters need to be cleaned but first check to see if the crankshaft can be turned if you can you may save that engine.

1989 Ford Ranger 2.9 liter 4x4 Runs Horrible

change fuel filter. add can of SEAFOAM(parts house) to fuel. It sounds like the beginning of EGS(ethanol gas syndrome). corn liquor substance, water, and clogging. all caused by ethanol fuel.

My 89' ford ranger 2.3L idles fine stalls in gear a lot wont go up above 2k rpms when it isnt stalling

you have a restriction in your exhaust system. It might be the catylitic converter plugged or the muffler plugged. If not this check the tailpipe for pluggage.
