2 possible problems here. remember to always look at the inexpensive first.
That would be the ignition control module, which is held on by 2 screws beneath the distributor cap. the dielectric grease used in mounting drys out and causes it to over heat and burn out. cost about 35 bucks...10 mins. to install.
that is what i think your issue is...as fords from88-92 are notorious for it.

second possibility is that you have a bad ECM...and though takes 10 mins to install will set you back aboy 125 bucks.

possible float sticking in carb or fuel pump not working. can you see gas spray in carb when manually operating throttle? Does it backfire when running? if so it may have jumped time,

Lost power and when we started it it wouldnt get of idle now it wont start it sound like it wants to start

You would need a fuel pressure gauge and the attachments to hook it into the fuel line before the injectors.
You can spray carb cleaner into the throttle body to imitate the injectors, just don't spray it thru the mass air flow meter.
Its possible the mass air flow meter was failing and your cleaning it finished the job. They are very precise components. There could be an air leak between the throttle body and the MAF meter.
You could need a simple fuel filter too.
If it will start on carb cleaner and the filter is good, you may have to get a book to troubleshoot the mass air flow meter.

running out of fuel sucks the dirt off the bottom of the tank it might have caused it to fail i think you can get to it from under the back seat you can see if the pump has power there as well

1990 acura integra gs. Started hesitating and trying to quit at stop light. started driving again and when I tried giving it gas, its wouldnt go. It finally died. It acts like its not getting any gas when...

Is it getting gas?? Is the fuel pump working?? A 1990 could have rust in the fuel tank plugging up lines, filter or the pump. Or the fuel pump is not getting power. Just a few thoughts.
