If you take this car for a scan the result will be an emission problem.

This simply indicates that the gas tank cover is not well tightened or the gas tank-cover has worn-out. But ideally, you need to just open the gas tank cover and re-tighten it.

I hope this helps out.

Thanks for using Fixya.

You may need a shop to check the cam sensor wiring. Likely has 3 wires to it, a reference voltage (probably a 5 volt signal) on one wire, then a ground wire for the sensor, and then a signal wire to the computer. A scan tool that reads live data streaming might be used to check the cam sensors output signal to the computer. The cam sensor is used to synchronize fuel injector pulses with the valve train.

2009 jeep patriot. the check engine light cam on took it to auto zone and they said it was a gas cap. they fiddled with it and shut the code off. i drove it less then 10 miles and it is back on.

Did you replace the gas cap? A gas cap that does not seal properly will allow air to be drawn into the evap system and will give you a corresponding check engine light and code. Caps are relatively inexpensive, so buy one and replace your old one.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, TCS OFF LIGHT AND THE TRACTION LIGHT are on...

Code 340 is for a problem with the cam position sensor. That would affect the tach and cause the check engine light to be on.
And most all the time the check engine light is on the other warning lights will be also. The Traction control system uses the engine and the ABS system to function. So if there is a problem with the engine, the TCS will be disabled.
The cam sensor and circuits would need to be tested. It could be a wiring problem.

Chirping noise coming from engine area also smell a gas smell

The gas smell will need to be checked for any fuel leaks. The chirping noise IF the belt and tensioner is OK, is caused be the CAM SYNCHRONIZER Its located down on the bottom of the intake manifold, where IF it had a distributor, thats where it would be. There are special tools to line up the timing of the cam sensor, so you need to know what you are doing to replace it. If you dont get it right, the CK Engine light will be on and a code for Cam out of Sync will be in the computer.

Was running-stalled-turns over but will not fire.gas guage wont move and gas light stays on

check and make sure you have plenty of fuel in the tank. gas light should not be on as long you have plenty of fuel in the tank unless you have faulty fuel level sensor. check if you getting sparks and fuel, pull wire and one plug out, ground it to the vech have a friend turn over the engine and see if you getting strong sparks. no sparks check coil having 12V, good coil, cam sensor faulty. check if you getting fuel, pulling hose from the fuel filter line, point it down ward wrapping the end with clothes covering the hose and turn the engine over, see if you getting proper fuel and good pressure coming out of the line using your thumb slightly cover the fuel line. no pressure or fuel, check the fuel pump, good pump, faulty crank sensor. both crank and cam sensor work the same way, one telling computer to send sparks to the plugs and other turn on the fuel pump.

My s10 will turn over, but wont squirt gas through injecter

Does it crank? Do you have any codes? Check engine light? Do you have spark? No spark check coil, and connections, also it would be nice to know what year it is. Get codes read. No crank check battery and starter. No codes or lights check crank position sensor, make sure your pcm is good after replacing your ignition mod you could have blown it if you did do it right. (engine computer) Check cam sensor if applies. Crank and cam could prevent it from starting and I know one I think cam controls pcm's fuel delivery on gm's
