Check to see if your 4 way flashers work, if they do, it may be the lever, if they don't, it may be the flasher unit.

Emergency flashers and turn signals stopped working in my 2000 Montero Sport

The most likely cause of the problem is the flasher unit. It's usually in a small metal can or plastic box that plugs into a socket somewhere in the car (usually under the dashboard, but sometimes in a fusebox in the glove compartment, or less commonly, under the hood). Go to any general car parts store and ask for the turn signal flasher for your model. When you have the replacement in hand, you'll know what you are looking for, and the installation instructions may even tell you exactly where to search for it. The part costs about $3 - $7.

If you're wondering how it works, flashers are usually thermostat-type switches with a built-in heater - when it's in one position, the heater warms it up so it snaps to the other position. When it cools, it snaps back. The current for the heater goes through the turn signals lamps, which explains why it flashes more rapidly or not at all if you have burned-out lamps. Failure modes include fatigue cracking in the bi-metal switch element and burned-out contacts.

If the flasher doesn't fix it, you may have a break in the power wire going to the turn signal lever or a short-circuit (blown fuse) due to damaged insulation somewhere in the turn signal light wiring.

Left and right turn signals do not work. Hazard flashers work, turn signal fuse intact. where could the problem be?

Check the indicator switch, that seems to be all that is left in the system, except the flasher relay, depending on whether the vehicle uses the same one for the hazards or not.

My right turning signal in my 2002 Montero sport

Hi, this is a common problem and can be very annoying the only thing you need to do to solve this problem is to replace the arm you press when you want to make a turn left or right, what happens is that the switch inside wares then it sticks in the one possition you can sometimes get it off by pushing it in slightly as you try turning it to off position but failing that the only option you have is to get the whole indicator arm replaced. Their is no way of repairing these as they are a sealed unit, if you have any breakers yards near to you then you should be able to get one from their for next to nothing other than that you need to ring your local car spares shops and see what best price you can get

The blower fan on my 2000 montero sport sometimes wont turn on. I checked the connection on the blower switch and it is good

It is more than likely that the blowermotor is going bad.. Next time it stops tap on it with something see if it starts. Does it stop working more when it is raining?

Mitsubishi montero sport signal light malfunction

I had the exact same thing happen to my '98 Montero Sport.... the entire lever assembly most likely needs replaced because a switch inside of it broke. That is if it's the same as mine was which it sounds exactly like it is. I had to get the part from Mitsubishi and it cost somewhere around $100. You get a whole new lever assembly and mine is working great now, feels a whole lot better than it has in years. In the meantime you can take out the turn signal fuse in the interior fusebox to stop the turn signals entirely until you can fix the problem. Good Luck! corymaier@gmail.com
