2005 Chevy Equinox - Front End Trouble

2005 Chevy Equinox-Ok the tires went bad from the inside out and caused a lot of vibration in the front end, for a while it took time to figure out that, that was the problem and i now believe it has caused a new problem. The front end has a (clacking sound) for better lack of a word and a slight vibration, it starts at just over 65mph and stops when over 70mph and really does it when you hit a bump in the road. I can also feel it in the gas foot peddle. Had someone look at it and he does'nt think its the tie rods or the bushin's so now he's Stumped. He said maybe an alignment or that it could possible be the rack? I know nothing about cars and don't have a lot of money to be caseing down the problem. HELP PLEASE!

Likely whatever causes the noise also caused the problem with your tires. Have a competent shop or tech check your ball joints and c/v axle joints. It could be a bad hub bearing as well but usually they make more noise at lower speeds.
After you determine what is actually wrong and fix it, it is a good idea to have it aligned. Unless the alignment caster is severely "off" it should not cause any shaking. Caster is pretty munch non-adjustable on your car and will never cause a noise though. Ball joints if worn can cause the tires to "splay" out at the bottom causing uneven tire wear.
I'm leaning towards ball joints but without the advantage of being there to examine it, no one can say for sure.

2008 chevy cobalt violent vibration arouhd 55mph ok below and above speed have replaced joints tires struts, vibration still there

Warped rotors or out of balance tires can cause this. Have you had a front-end alignment after putting these steering/suspension parts on? When replacing these parts IT IS CRITICAL TO HAVE ALIGNED. Also, Have you checked condition of front HUB/WHEEL BEARINGS?

yes. if the axle is bad and binding it can cause the front end to vibrate because it gets out of balance.

2005 Equinox has vibration through the steering wheel at 65 miles per hour.

check condition of front tire, also the balance of the fronts 65 is a common speed for tire vibration. do not overlook steering play(tie rods, ball joints) also bent wheel. any noise? could have wheel bearing issue. lots of places, like vip, pepboys, etc. will check front end for free hopeing to sell you a part. not bad deal because you do need "something" even if it is tires balanced.

2005 Equinox: 2005 chevy equinox vibration at low speeds...

A low speed vibration is likely caused by a tire. Check to see if any rims are bent. Have the tires checked and replaced as necessary. If the tires are worn unevenly have an alignment done. If this is an AWD model check the driveshaft and support bearing.
