A very common problem to have a break in the harness were it bends when the wheels are turning. Replace about 18 inches of the harness between the sensor and the frame. You can buy a repair harness ($100) or just cut out a section between the plug and the frame and replace with good speaker wire. use crimp connectors and heat shrink or silicone to seal your joints and recover with the plastic shield.

Hope this helps,
Dave

Which indicates a malfunction in the ABS system. Although this can be a number of things - the easiest to check are the wheel speed sensors, one at each front wheel, and on your car probably one on the driveshaft.

URGENT WHEEL BEARING SAFETY ISSUE

Its your wheel bearing... replace it ASAP! You may have noticed a hum while driving over 35 that changes when you rock the steering back and forth. A while after this the lights come on as the sensor is part of the hub assembly.

"ABS" indecator light is on

Most common problems are front wheel bearings they are integral to the wheel speed sensors for ABS system. I'd get it scanned to see which side is faulty.

Antilock brake /trac off light stays on...140000 miles

In those cars, the wheel speed sensor is integrated into the wheel bearings. When one of the sensors goes bad, you have to replace the entire wheel bearing. Also, when the sensor(s) go bad, it will cause the loss of anti-lock braking and disable the traction control system.

The only way to identify which wheel bearing it is, is to hook the car up to a scan tool capable of reading ABS codes. That said, the front ones are more notorious for going out than the rear ones.

Lights on for service engine soon anti lock and trac off

Id have to know what code has triggered the Service Engine Soon light in order to diagnose that. It could be related to the anti-lock and traction control system being off or it could be something separate.

That said, it is common for the anti-lock and traction control to be turned off if one or more of the wheel speed sensors goes bad. In some cases the wheel speed sensors are separate from the wheel bearings but in your case I believe they are integrated with the wheel bearing, so in order to replace the sensor you have to replace the wheel bearing.

In order to know which wheel bearing is the culprit, you'd have to have the car hooked up to a scan tool capable of reading ABS codes.

I found on some of the GM hubs it actually wasn;t the hub at all but a broken wire in the spped sensor harness about 8" back into the harness fixed the wire problem fixed.
