Where is the fuel filter located on a 1986 F250 truck so that it can be changed ?

Thanks for choosing FIxYa and welcome to the site. They are usually on the same side as the gas cap. You can always easily find it by going to your gas cap and following the gas lines under the car. Start where you put fuel in it. You will see the gas lines under the vehicle. Follow the ones that lead to the front. You should run right into your fuel filter.

Jus purchased this 1986 Ford F350 Dually. Turned a corner just died and won't start. We replaced the ignition module, checked the fuel is working fine. It turns over, but it won't...

Is it possible this truck is simply flooded out? Have you tried holding the gas pedal all the way to the floor and attempt to start? If it is flooded, it should crank a few times, stumble to life, then start to rev. At that point, let your foot off and you should be good to go. You may need to adjust or rebuild the carb, though.

1986 ford xlt lariatf150 302 in it will run good for a little while but its staring to sputter an spit like its not getting gas. But ihavent changed the fuel filter yet. But you can let it sit for a sec....

There is only one fuel filter and the possibility of bad gas is good.If the truck set as long as you said then you need to drain the fuel tank and put in fresh gas, unleaded gas does not do well over three months old and if it is an ethanol blend it will actually start to grow a fungus.Change the fuel and the fuel filter and if this does not work let me know,we will start over from there.
