I changed the battery on my 2000 vw beetle and the radio will not work, and there seems to be no power to it. Is it ruined?

It would have SAFE on the LCD. The code could be found inside your radio users manual as a printed label placed by the sales person.

No you just need to put the code in to start it up after you press the on button that is.

What are some common engine problems in a 2000 VW beetle?

The most problematic engine issue is replacement of the timing belt, tension pully and water pump at around 70,000 miles. Failure of the timing belt can damage and possibly ruin the engine. Other common problems are low or sludged oil (if not changed intermittantly), loss of engine coolant, and bad glow plugs.

Thermometer won't work in my 2000 vw beetle after a dead battery

Most vw dealers will "reset" your thermometer for free. Just take it to them and tell them what heppened... They shouldnt charge you anything for it.

Buttons on my 2000 vw beetle radio that changes it from fm,am, cd,and tape will not push since my husband unplugged the battery and plugged back up

youre going to need to get the radio code from the vw dealer. there is no way around this. you will need radio serial number and the vin off the door of the vehicle. once you have this info, write it down in the back of your owners handbook. to get the radio serial number, the radio will have to be pulled out.

2000 VW Beetle - had to jump the battery and when it restarted the radio doesn't work and the fuses are not blown and it doesn't show SAFE or anything on the radio.

2000 Beetle radio has a 10amp fuse at its rear left. have to remove radio to get to it. removing and returning radio is not easy. let me know if you need help with that as i have done this repeatedly on two different 2000 beetles and finally have it downpat. of course you need radio code, have found an article on how to disable VW radio anti-theft code but have not tried it yet.

2004 VW Beetle no power to Radio

Your radio is most likely in "safe mode", an anti-theft feature. There's a 4-digit code that will need to be entered in order to get the radio operational. The code may be on a label inside the spare tire well in your trunk (some years). Otherwise the code can be obtained from the VW dealer with the car's VIN number and serial number from your radio.

2003 VW Beetle battery drain

I think I remember running into this once before and found a factory rear speaker amplifier in trunk that stayed powered on then we replaced the amp and the new one did the same thing . then checked radio coding and it wasn't set to proper code so it didn't know to turn off the amp. changed the coding to correct setting and bingo problem solved. hope that might help but coding can only be done by dealership.

This should help. Just have your radio code before pulling it out or cutting battery power from the car, it will go to SAFE mode.
