Question about Pontiac Montana SV6

1 Answer

I have a 2005 Pontiac Montana SV6 van. The rear wiper has now seized in the middle of the window. I don't use it much and know that repairing would be expensive. How can I unseize it to push it back down and off the window? When I look in the rearview mirror, all I see is that dang wiper in the middle. Thanks.

Yes you can move it down. you will have to pull the wiper arm off. check at the post that comes out of the rear and see if there is a lock in place to hold the wiper arm on it. if there is you need to move it out of the way and then the wiper arm will slide straight up off the post.
then move the wiper arm to dissired possision and push it back on.

Cooling fan not working pontiac montana sv6 2005

Your electric fan should only kick on when the van tells it to. The way this is accomplished is by a sensor. I dont know where it is located on your vehicle specifically, but they are sometimes located in the radiator (common for aftermarket fan kits).

Rear window wiper stop working

one of two possible problems.. (trusting fuse is ok) first is that the wires in the hinge area are prone to breakage. second is that the rear wipers are subject to vast amounts of dirt/salt the shaft of the wiper can leak into the bearings and seize them solid. i would remove the plastic tailgate cover and meter the wires off the wiper and if there is power then you are looking at the motor. hope this helps

How to replace Spark plugs on 2005 Pontiac Montana Sv6? Thanks

Okay, this is a fun job, the front plugs are easy, the back plugs are a littlle more challenging, I ran my van up on ramps, then slid under and you can reach the rear plugs from underneath, by reaching up beside the exhaust pipe. You have the do it by feel. Good luck

The rear wiper stopped working. I suspect that

The fuse for the rear wiper is located in the interior fuse panel on the passenger door side of the dash. It is the 3rd one down from the top in the left column (#3) and it is a 15 amp.

Rear wiper won't work

I have a 2006 Montana. Mine was seized. I fixed it by knocking the shaft out of the motor gear socket with a piece of wood with hammer, cleaned the hole with a drill and it worked.

2005 Pontiac SV6 Montana key fob unlocks doors but will not lock

For the sliding doors you need to clean the contacts, there are 6 or 8 on both sides, just wipe them clean as they are probably covered in oil/grease/grime.
