I tried using my cigarette light, to enable a car vacuum cleaner to function, also a compressor for my tyres in an emergeny, i also tried heating the element, to light a cigarette. NONE WORKED? IT DID NOT LIGHT UP AT ALL, I CLEANED THE BASE OF THE CIGARETTE LIGHT PORT, REMOVING SLIGHT RUST, BUT STILL WONT WORK? IS THERE SOMETHING I HAVE MISSED CHECKING, AS AN AMATEUR. LIKE THIS RELAY BOX UNDER THE CAR BONNET? PLEASE HELP ME, I AM ON THE EDGE OF INSANITY. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHH. MANY THANKS, BARRY SHRUBB, HULL HU9 3PB TEL, 01482 782622 (ONEMALEUK@YAHOO.COM)

Heat and air conditioning temperature control does not work. Why doesn't ac blow cold air even though compressor runs and the refrigerant line gets cold? Only hot air comes from vents.

Probably the air blend door is not functioning properly. This can be caused by a vacuum leak; bad actuator; or bad vacuum check valve.

Saab centre consil lighter not working

interior fuse box lower dash drivers side the lid will give the fuse location etc . the rear 'lighter socket ' is usually for 12v auxillary input lead ie tyre compressor , unless it had a lighter in it, don't use this as a lighter socket as will blow fuse , the same may be for the front as most cars i've seen post 2008 dont have cigarette lighter's only 12v AUX sockets . check with your drivers handbook

Cigarette lighter keeps blowing fuse

when the lighter is not pushed in does the fuse still blow? If not get a new plug in bit. Try some other plug in unit (GPS--dash cam--tyre compressor) or anything that uses a plug for the cigarette lighter and see it the fuse still blows.

Will I be able to generate 15amps in my honda cigarette lighter to power tyre air compressor which is rated to work at that?

depends on the fuse rating for that circuit-you should be able to find that information in your owners manual, but if you do not have one,m plugging in the compressor and running it will determine if it is rated to rund that load-the fuse will pop, or it won't. 15 amps is not a large draw, you did not list the year and model but most power ports are 20+ amp rated and older cars (with cigarette lighters) were 30 amp.

What is the tyre size of Toyota Starlet car and what is the tyre?

The tire and that is on it, we'll have the size listed on the side wall. It usually looks like 185/60 R14 or 195/75 R13 or some variation on the numbers but basically in that format. The question is, what size did it come with, what size does it have now, what size do you want to be on there. A seasoned tire store veteran can tell you all of the different variations on size that will fit your car. By a you can select a tire size and type based on ride comfort, winter or wet traction, high speed performance etc. If the tire pressure will also be listed on the sidewall usually in pretty darn tiny letters. Generally 35 PSI that is the Max. 32 usually gives a comfortable ride. air compressors that you can plug in your series cigarette lighter are less than 20 bucks and have a gauge. My "brake" light turned on but my emergeny brake is not on and my cruise control stopped working at the same time. What does this mean?

Check your brake fluid level. Check brake lights. If the cruise sees any sign that you are trying to slow down. ie... any brake input. It will not allow you to set cruise.

Flat tyre

If you have the "Mini Mobility System" your car has a tube of tyre sealant and an electric air pump. These are locate in the boot (trunk) under the carpet.

Shake the tube of sealant. Screw the filler hose onto the bottle. Unscrew the dust cap from the tyre valve. Unscrew the valve insert from the tyre valve using the screw device (very important). Push the tube of tube of sealant onto the tyre valve and hold the bottle with the cap pointing downwards. Squeeze the bottle and force the entire contents into the tyre. Replace the tyre valve insert using the screw tool (most important).

Get the electric pump and connect the hose with the pressure guage onto the tyre valve. Connect the pump electric plug into the cigarette socket in the car or power outlet in the boot (ignition key needs to be on position 1). Inflate the tyre to 1.8 - 2.5 bar. Switch the pump off for a moment to check the pressure accurately. Unscrew the compressor, and put everything away in the boot. IMMEDIATELY drive your car for about 10 minutes. This is to distribute the sealant throughout the tyre. Do not exceed 60km/h. After driving for 10 minutes, recheck the tyre pressures using the pump or at a service station. Continue your journey but keep below 80km/h until you have the tyre checked or replaced.

Apart from the fuse box in the engine bay there is a fuse repository behind the coin alcove underneath the boot release. Fuse 3 for the lighter (I think) was blown. I replaced it and now the climate control console responds and the display lights up.
