Why does my reverse gear grid on my 2000 Toyota

I take it you mean the transmission grinds when shifting into reverse with a manual transmission in which case the input shaft of the transmission is still partially engaged with the engine. One cause may be low fluid in the hydraulic clutch reservoir if it has a hydraulic clutch mechanism; use DOT-3 brake fluid and pump the clutch pedal a few times to remove any air. Another cause may be that the pilot bearing is hanging up; this is a major repair. Another possibility is that the clutch lining is coming loose or totally disintegrated requiring replacement.

Cant shift into gears

Is it an Automatic or Standard transmission? Your description of the problem is very confusing. An automatic does not have a throwout bearing. The clutches or disks on an automatic are not for the average Joe to mess with. Please let us know what you're working with.

Why my toyota corolla 1995 a/t won't shift to reverse?

Make sure the transmission fluid is at the right level and is the right type. Transmissions use the fluid to engage various mechanisms and sometimes low transmission fluid will only effect one gear at first. Also it could the shifting lever adjustment. Make sure all the gears engage as they are supposed to - if they don't work right either, you need to get it adjusted.

I have a 1991 toyota corolla sr5 SW with standard tranny . Lately it is sometimes very hard to shift into second and sometimes third. From first to second , it sticks and makes a snapping sound.

You may be able to fix this by adjusting the clutch pedal height. There is an adjustment rod at the top of the clutch pedal under the dash. Loosen the jam nut and turn the push rod to lengthen it. Retighten the jam nut and test drive the vehicle.

Hard to shift 5 speed manual speed transmission on 1995 rodeo

pending on the type of clutch in the vehicle, you may be low on clutch fluid. (if your clutch is hydraulic)
other than that it is most likely the entire clutch itself.

Grinding gears from 1st to 2nd, 3rd to 5 ok

Either your clutch is getting bad, or you're shifting down too soon, and up too late. Try double clutching. Push in your clutch and push it into neutral. Release the clutch, fan the gas pedal, push the clutch again and shift into 1st. All this does is sychronize the speed of the transmission with the speed of the engine. There were, in the 60's, a lot of cars with the old "three on the tree" that you had to do this every time, and you get pretty good at it after a while.
