Check the fuses under the dash and hood. If it is replaced, and continues to blow, you have a short circuit.

Dead battery possibly. However, check all connections first on both the battery, pos and neg - as well as the negative on the chassi or block (wherever it's grounded) and the starter.

If these are all good - try jump starting the car. If it start, disconnect the battery (both terminals) and if it stays running the alternator is still good. If it dies, the alternator needs repalced, as well as the battery.

When an alternator starts to lose (or quit holding) it's charge, the battery becomes the main source of power. The battery purpose is to supply power to the starter at starting point, then to all electrical components. The alternator simply keeps the battery charged. So, without a good alternator, then goes the batter after about 3-5 starts and drives.

Also, as a safe measure check all fuses and relays. See my tip on how to test relays.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

donandersonl is right as well. Check all fuses and relays especiall the starter/ignition fuse. (it will be labeled ignition fuse).

To test relays, with a fuse tester (auto parts store sells, or Walmart) - there are usually four prongs on them. You can't tell which are hot, so take the two prongs on the tester and touch them to two prongs until light on tester is on. If light does not come on when any two prongs on relay are connected, the relay is most likely bad.

I have used this method myself and has proven useful many times

Please, let one of us know if you need any further assistance and we'll be more than happy to help.

This unfortunately is going to be an electrical diagnosis nightmare. And unless you have access to the right diagnostic equipment and the means to reprogram you will likely be farther ahead to save yourself the time and frustration and take it into a repair facility.

Turn key and just a loud click starter not turning but I noticed when key is in start position all power seems to go out dash lights radieo dome everything goes out until key is returned to run pos.

Everything is supposed to go off in the start position. You would have power to the engine computer and other components to start.
If the engine is not locked up, it could be the starter or a bad connection with one of the battery cables.

Ignation wont start

If your battery checks out, but the starter is still silent, it may be a faulty ignition switch. Turn the key to the on position (not all the way to start). If the red warning lights on your dash don't light up (and your battery connections are clean), the ignition switch is bad. If they do light up, turn the key to the start position. The dash warning lights should turn off at this key position (most cars). If you're not sure, turn on the headlights. When you try to start the car, the lights should either dim (a lot) or turn off completely. If they do, your ignition switch should be ok. If not, the switch will need replacement.

I can't get my car to start, when i turn the key the car don't make any sounds, i check the battery, change the starter

The next thing i would check is the ignition switch itself. Turn the key to the on position, If the red warning lights on your dash don't light up (and your battery connections are clean), the ignition switch is bad. If they do light up, turn the key to the start position. The dash warning lights should turn off at this key position (most cars). If you're not sure, turn on the headlights. you need to check all fuses one by one for loose contact.leave the igtion key to on position and try to tap the fuse box, shake wires from battery going to inside the car.A testlight is effective in diagnosting this trouble.Probing the wires on the ignition switch while turning on the key.Need somebody to observe the cluster while performing the troubleshooting.

Dash lights are not working 1999 Mercedes-Benz CLK

most probable cause could be a faulty ignition switch. Does the lights on the dash come on when you turn the key to the on position ? Do they turn off when you turn the car to the start and are about to crank the engine ? If that does not happen you will have to replace the Ignition switch. They don't have a fuse for the dash lights.
