Oil leak on 2007 chevy impala

Only a trusted local auto service shop or dealer can answer this for you because your vehicle would have to be up on a lift to actually see what's leaking in order to properly diagnose and repair. It may be as simple as changing the oil pan gasket or a cracked oil pan that would have to be either replaced or repaired depending on the size of the crack. There is also the remote chance that its actually something else that's leaking. Hope this helps.

That's dealers job to advise when they spot possible future failures - I'd have leak repaired as soon as possible because leaks "don't fix themselves" and usually gets worse and causes runability problems.

Save you $$ and bring extra oil. When you do get a chance (downtime) then repair seal/gasket. Oil stop leaks are basically oil thickeners and nothing more. If they actually plugged a leak, they would also plug oil galleries and small oil passages and cause engine damage. Repair when you get the chance.

Small leaking from oil and fluids gaskets, do I need repairs

Cars are not supposed to leak.

A small oil leak will eventually make the whole engine slimy.

If you forget to keep putting oil in, a leak can destroy the engine from running out of oil.

You don't have to have it repaired, but if it is an inexpensive repair, I think you should. (Some oil leak repairs require somewhat extensive engine disassembly, and are not cheap...)

What kind of oil should I use in Florida. Truck leaks a lot.Would a heavier oil help with limiting leaks?

You could use a straight weight SAE 40 or 50 in a warm climate like that. The heavier oil shouldn't run out quite as fast.
