Question about 2002 Nissan Sentra

2002 Sentra, ac/heather electrical problems

I have a 2002 Sentra, some lil'kid thought it would be cool to steal my pull out detachable face radio. While in the process had no clue about how to steal a pull out radio,so they ripped out my whole ac/heather unit, and broke it.Now it only blows supper hot air. Went to pick-N-pull and got another one,well now it doesnt blow nothing.I took it to get it checked out and was told its an elecrtical problem.Does anyone know what it could be? It turns on,heat works,fan blows just no cold air,and doesnt blow like it should.One last thing for those lil'kids,dummies for got to disconnect the wires so now that got a radio they cant even sale or use.

Most likely you have a blend air door cable that has either been broken, disconnected or stripped out. there are blend doors that control the direction of air flow, and another one that controls temprature. look fr a cable coming from the back of the unit, or if it is a electric then you will have to trace wires. the temp door should be in the rea behind thee glove box.

Dipstick brokeoff inside dipstick tube


It's only 2 bolts to detach dipstick tube from block and if it doesn't pull the broken piece out when u remove tube u should see the piece sticking out of block to pull it out by hand!!!

Drivin to work car over heats n get a hole in radiator replaced that n the thermostate N car still seem to over heat


try turning key on with out starting see if electric cooling fan comes on if not start engine turn on ac if it doesn't come on that's most likely the problem (fan,wire or sensor to the fan )

2004 NISSAN SENTRA . THE VOLUME OF THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING. THE KNOB WORKS, THE BUTTONS FOR DIFFERENT RADIO STATIONS WORK. THERE IS JUST NO VOLUME.


same this happned to me in my 2006 sentra. the volume for the radio is gone. i can tune, its just barely audible/ quiet. weirdly though it sounds perfect when playing CDs. i almost thought maybe it got switched in to mute mode or something. did you figure out your problem?

Radio keeps flashing on and off on Ford Focus 2003


If it has a detachable face plate that could be the problem. Remove and clean the contacts. My face plate will get warm if left in the car in the summer and expands, radio flashes until ac cools it down. I remove faceplate and take it with me, put it on when I get back in. Works alot better.

The heater blower in my 2002 sentra is only woking when on the highest setting...do you know what the problem could be?


The blower resistors have gone bad and needs to be replaced.

The 2002 Nissan Sentra blower motor resistor is located near the blower motor itself, which can be found under the dashboard, on the passenger side of the car.

To access it, you have to remove the glove compartment and the isolation panel that covers the bottom of the blower. Do the following steps:

  1. first, locate and open the glove compartment on the passenger side;
  2. remove the four upper screws and slide the door lock bracket out;
  3. pull out the two pins at the inner bottom corners of the compartment;
  4. take out the glove compartment assembly;
  5. remove the two screws retaining the isolation panel and slide the later out.
Looking under the dashboard, you can now see the blower motor and, on its left side, near the firewall, the resistor block brown connector.

To take out the blower motor resistor:
  1. remove the white plastic bracket that faces it;
  2. unplug the brown connector;
  3. remove the two screws on the resistor's socket;
  4. pull the resistor block out.
The resistor block is actually a PCB ("Printed Circuit Board"). The traces printed on this board have different electrical resistance, and are used by the control assembly to vary the speed of the blower fan.

I believe Auto Zone or Parts Source has the blower resistor you need. Good luck

1997 nissan sentra ac stops at high heat outside when letting the car cool the ac comes back on the temp guage is only about middle not hot?


I have seen a problem like this just recently. If you do not feel she is low on freon (which can cause this problem). You will have to check for power to the clutch coil during the time it stops cooling. If you have power to the coil or the clutch (there will be one or two wire going to the compressor)(the clutch is a large electro magnet, a coil of wire which must have 12 volts +in and be grounded to magnitize and pull in the clutch plate) If the coil has an internal short, which is ok at low temps say when you first start up your car then as engine bay temps get up to say 140 160 degs. the coil gets to hot to hold in or it losses it magitism power, it all means the coil of the clutch may be shorting out, as temps get heated up everything expands and wires touch wires that sholud not.  I hope this makes sense. Its hard to find if this is the cause. You have to check for voltage  to the coil when the a/c stops cooling to find this problem.

When should the radiator fans be running? They only seem to run when I put the A/C on. Should they run at other times? I have a Nissan Sentra 2002 GXE.


One fan should be on once the coolant temp hits a preset number, I believe it may be 205 for teh Sentra. The second fan kicks in once the AC is on.

Did you make sure your grounds are all good too? Even an extra ground from any metal in the area, to screw on side of radio may help.
