Any time you take off the timing belt and replace it could be off. It depends on how much care you took to make sure the timing didn't move in the process. Recheck the timing marks to make sure they are still on. If so then check for unplugged connectors. If you left the cam or crank sensor unplugged the computer won't get the signal telling it to spark. If you have a spark tester and a friend hook the tester up to cyl. 1 and have your friend crank the motor while you look to see if it sparks. Also if you removed the battery cables during the process then the car's factory security system may be stopping it from starting. The factory immobilizers can cause all kinds of problems after the battery gets low or is disconnected.

Timming belt broke from water pump broke while driving car put new water pump on n timming belt but car doesnt start right plus shakes doesnt sound right 2001 neon dodge

Sounds like timing belt not on correctly. Check timing marks are aligned correctly when installing timing belt. This vehicle should have 2-3 marks to be aligned when installing belt.marks should be on cam gear/ crankshaft gear and intermediate shaft if engine is equipped with it.

Is it necessary to take the timming belt off to replace the water pump on a 1996 isuzu rodeo

3.2L engine, you will have to remove timing belt to replace water pump, your water pump is timing belt driven, I would replace timing belt while in there, good luck, hope this was very helpful.

Whinning Noise when cold.

Timing belts don't while because they don't slip! Could be the water pump/alternator belt.

My 2002 PT Cruiser died on the side of the road yesterday. The car has 95,000 miles and I beleive the serpentine belt broke. Had the car towed to the dealership and before the service adviser had someone...

The reason the service writers always recommend that the water pump be changed along with the timing belt and cam and crank seals, is that they are all located together, and it takes a long time (which you pay for) to take everything off to get to the area, so you may as well replace the other things which will go out soon with that high of a mileage anyway. Altogether, it runs between $500-$700, but it should last you another 100,000 miles. Your serpentine belt should cost about $130 parts and labor. If you are in doubt or the dealership has a bad reputation, have it towed somewhere else. Any time you have doubts, cal the BBB in your area and ask questions.

Cam shaft timming marks 1999 Daewoo 1.6 liter

there is a special tool to hold gears in correct place on some of these models, but you can hold one cam at a time with a spanner then feed belt on exhaust cam then inlet cam gear
get someone to hold gears in place while you feed belt on.
the inlet cam is more prone to turn off mark more than exhaust.
if you have tensioner that needs retaining pin in when installing
you fit belt while aligning timming marks
fit tensioner as last spot to feed belt on with retaining pin in adjuster
get correct tension on belt by turning water pump so that you can flex (turn) belt 90 degrees only just while using finger and thumb
tighten water pump check flex
check all timing marks are correct
remove retaining pin from auto tensioner
turn motor over a couple of turns by hand observing tensioner arrow should hover around V mark and that all timing marks align up again(after one complete turn)

Bottom wheel of water pump wont turn, burning belt

The wheel could be stuck but you need to have the water drained out and a mixture of antifreeze to water added to it. Be sure to keep in mind the heater core also has fluid in it and you could damage that also.

Adjust timming

Did you remove timing belt when you changed w/pump? If so timing could be off and hopefully no damage as these engines are valve benders when timing is off. Also, could you have forgetten to plug in the distributor connector?
