My daughter called me when she got to school just now and said the light was on. She didn't find it in the handbook. The car is new to her and I am sure she overlooked it. Just wanted to know what that light stood for and if I should take it somewhere tomorrow.

I have know idea what she looked at. She is at a function at school and had to leave the situation. I was just trying to find out for myself. Sounds like it could have something to do with the air conditioning???

ECT Power Light and we figured it out when I actually got the car home and could look myself. And she knows too, now!

do u think the poor rating u gave me is fair?, considering the fact i do this on my own time free of any charge? U did't give me any real info to work with and this car like all Japanese cars doesn't publish free owners manuals on line.

Truck wont start on starting fluid it is a ford f350 2001 v10

I would think that you have a spark problem. There is an Ignition Relay or ECC Relay. Your need to know certain Pin connectors to test the functions of the Crankshaft sensor and Camshaft sensors.

You may have a "check engine" light showing on the dash and it is not apparent because the dash lights have not cycled off with a no start condition. You may be able to scan the truck for a diagnosis.

While you may have fuel pressure at the test port, your injectors may not be opening. But since you used starting fluid to no avail, most likely you lack spark.

Your truck should have an ECC or Ignition Relay and perhaps an ECC diode. These parts provide power to the other components of the spark system. The secondary parts like Crankshaft sensors, the Camshaft sensors, and others use the power from these Relays.

You can satisfy yourself about fuel pressure by checking pressure at the test port, but spark seems to be your issue.

Please comment on my info.

Sorry i wrote under comments in stead of here but i did forget to tell you that the car ran ( worked ) for 2 months after i replaced the cylinder and then died - sorry for not shareing that bit -

Hello, This is the same mechanic as you had earlier. The Ignition switch would still be a good place to look at. Just check to see what the Terminals on the switch are really doing when the Key is in different positions.

The turning of the Key initiates both the ECC and the ECA. The ECA will shut down first(times out) and then the ECC will shut down because it needs to sense the ECA is working. But on your car the fuelpump is continuing to run. This would mean it is getting continuous power.

Your ECC RELAY is probably toast and is continuing to supply power to your fuel pump. This would be a part that you would replace. Check your Ignition switch positions anyway.

Where is the Engine Control Computer located on a 1994 Taurus with a 3.0? and are there any memory cards that have to be taken from the old one and placed in the rebuilt one that i purchased?

Your ECC has no memory cards that have to be transfer to the other ECC, the ECC is a seal unit, just install, no reprogramming needs to be done, ECC is under hood, passenger side, rear engine area, above passenger side blower motor, mounted on fire wall.

A/C will turn on and blow cold air but quits/shuts off after a short time. You can restart but it keeps quitting?

if it has (ecc)electronic climate control, it could be the (ecc)head or the (ecc)module. as these parts are expensive better have it put on a diagnostics machine!

Where are the cooling fan relays for a 1998 Cadillac Deville Northstar located?

Are you sure that you don't mean the cooling fan control module? It should be located up front next to the cooling fan. It is square shaped and has a long square shaped plug going into it. 00114_cooling_fan_control.jpgReads the temperature of the coolant and passes the information to the engine control computer (ECC). The ECC receives analog information and signals the cooling fan switch to cycle the cooling fan on or off, as required.

Problem with my pontiac 97 grand prix

I suspect that your problem lies within the vehicle's ECC (Engine Control Computer). Prior to replacing it or having it tested, I would try re-setting it. You can do this by pulling the fuse (for good measure) to the ECC and disconnecting the negative battery terminal for thirty seconds.

During the time you have the power disconnected to the ECC, I would go ahead and check all the connections (make sure they're not only connected firmly, but also free of corosion). Electronic connector cleaner and a soft bronze brush (available at electronic supply stores) can be used to clean the connectors if necessary. After cleaning the connection, coat the wire ends with dielectric compound if it was used previously.

I believe the ECC for your vehicle is mounted under the hood on the passenger side wheelwell (front side of the strut tower).

Hope this helps and good luck!
