I have a 97 and boy i dont think i would have the balls to do that with my car.
but i believe that could be caused by carbon tracking.. get some carb spray and clean the whole area coil packs and wires..but i haven't ever heard of any one doing that, i did that when i was younger on my 69 charger, i went to reseat the coil wire while running and receievd 20,000volt shock and hit my head and arm on the hood. i dont know which hurt worse!

also by taking off the pulgs from the coils raies the resistance of the coil and could send damaging feedback to the ecm module.

My car is misfiring where could that come from

I had the same problem with mine. After checking the obvious, plugs and wires, I found they were ok. My problem was the Ign. Coil pack was bad.. I learned that on the 98 camaro the no. 5 coil pack for some reason goes bad more often than the other two. Changed it out and started running top choice.

3.1 firing order 95 camaro

according to GM they did not put a 3.1L in a 1995 camaro, they used a 3.4L now the 1994 used a 3.1L but it makes no difference they both have the same firing order 1 2 3 4 5 6 easy. but i think what you want is the location of the spark plug wires on the coil packs.

first off lets talk about cylinder placement passenger side from front to back 1 3 5 driver side from front to back 2 4 6

OK, now the coil pack from the end with 2 plug ins 1 4 6 3 2 5

good luck...thanks for using fixya

your going to gt spars if its working correctly. on coil paks...if youDONT get a shots of electricity, then either the plug going to the pak,or the pak itself is bad.

How to test coil pack on 98 camaro

This is a backyard mechanic test when the right tools are not an option.. Be careful!!!. Take a screwdriver with a good handle, insert it into the spark plug end, hold it 1/4" from a grounded surface, have someone to turn the engine over, it will produce spark if it's good and will not if bad.

generally if it is a sensor you should be able to retrieve a fault code. Other things to chek, timing, vacuum leaks, EGR. valve, fuel filter, plugged injectors, spark plug ( gap ), lead wires, distributor cap, rotor.Hope that this will help you. Good luck and remember to rate all replies you get. Thanx.
