Auto mechanic code help

A mechanic would monitor the output of the selector switch with a scanner to see if it is reading the correct shifter position. Could be a wiring harness problem too.

What does codep0705 mean on a 2000 expedition

It has to do with the Digital Transmission Range Sensor. You have either an AR100 or an R470W transmission. Although the code is for the same thing on both transmissions, the circuitry is different, so the way you would go about troubleshooting the problem is different depending on which transmission you have.
It could be simply out of adjustment, there could be a wiring problem, or the sensor itself could be defective. I wouldn't place any bets on any of these possibilities. I have seen sensor failures, but I also know that Ford has had more than their fair share of connector/wiring harness problems on some models. I recommend following the diagnostic troubleshooting routine only after doing a thorough search for Technical Service Bulletins for your vehicle.

I have a 2003 ford winstar and the check engine light is on. The code readings say Bank 1 and bank 2 is lean. What does that mean?

It means both O2 Sensors, are reporting a lean
exhaust mixture. An out of range condition, that
set the check light

Now you need to figure out why--vacuum leak etc.

I would guess you need a repair shop, that can
diagnose that issue

Where is my transmission range sensor located

On the side of the transmission. Look at the lever that the shift cable pulls on. The transmission range sensor is the black assembly under that lever with the wire connector going to it.

I have an instrument icon that has lite up not sure what it is looks like an engine or transmission 2000 winstar ford

If it's yellow it most likely is check engine light. If it's on it means onboard computer has detected malfunction. Have codes read by experienced mechanic as this will tell what problem is.

This has to do with your bank one O2 sensor. You may just need to clean it off, possible you may have to replace it.
