SOURCE: 2001 dodge durango v8 4.7

It is acually called the vehicle speed sensor I do believe. It should should be located on the top of your transmission with a wiring harness attached to it. It should also have 1 bolt holding it in also. Whatever you do, do not rotate the gear when you remove it. Try to mark the exact way it came out when you replace the sensor. When you pull the sensor out it will have this gear attached to it which will need to be placed into the new sensor and put back into the vehicle in the same way it came out or you will throw a code and it will not be pretty. Good luck, hopefully I didn't scare you it can be a simple repair just mind your P's and Q's.

SOURCE: Crank sensor location 1999 dodge durango

The crank sensor is on the front of the motor on the case of the timing gear. If you want to replace it, the sensor itself isn't the problem, but you have to actually reset your timing, and get it recalibrated. If the timing isn't set, you can possibly damage your engine. But as far as location, it should be fairly easy to find. Hope all works out.

SOURCE: Dodge Durango 1998 5.2L Output Speed Sensor code P0720 Location

Its in different locations depending on if its 2wd or 4wd. For 2wd its in front of the drice shaft or for 4wd its in the tranfer case, just look for a white shape like box with wires plugged into it and you need a socket to remove it, iam not sure how much it is to replace as the cost varies at different shops.

IAIR FLOW SENSOR LOCATION 1998 DODGE DURANGO 5.9

Your vehicle is not equipped with a Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, but it does have a Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Here is a picture of where it is located.

How hard is it to replace the MAP sensor on a 2001 dodge durango?

VERY SIMPLE!!!!!

4.7L The MAP sensor is located on the front of the intake manifold. An O-ring seals the sensor to the intake manifold.
  1. Disconnect electrical connector at sensor.
  2. Clean area around MAP sensor.
  3. Remove 2 sensor mounting bolts.
  4. Remove MAP sensor from intake manifold.
To Install:
  1. Clean MAP sensor mounting hole at intake manifold.
  2. Check MAP sensor O-ring seal for cuts or tears.
  3. Position sensor into manifold.
  4. Install MAP sensor mounting bolts (screws). Tighten screws to 3 Nm (25 inch lbs..) torque.
  5. Connect electrical connector.

Wife's durango is idling rough and running rough

With both codes pointing at TP sensor, I'd certainly take the time to replace it, as well as make sure connections to it are clean, and good. Chances are, you won't be able to take part back anyway. As far as exhaust goes, if it's leaking in the right places in may cause improper readings at sensors downstream, but if not obvious leak, I wouldn't be concentrating in that area right now.

What Happens When a Map Sensor Goes Bad on 2001 dodge durango?

Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor controls fuel delivery and ignition timing, the pressure in the intake manifold will vary due to stress or work load, the MAP sensor monitors this, reporting to the computer. Good luck.
