After years of use either the actuator is interfering with closure or the pin assembly has pushed the lock asembley down. May need to be loosened and raised for proper closure around the pin that keeps it closed. Also oiling may free up some funtion of the trunk closure assembly.

Trunk wont close


check to see if the latch is stuck in the closed position. if so open the latch with a screw driver then lube assembly and try closing the trunk. if its broken go to a wrecking yard and get a used one.

CHECK FOR LOOSE BOLTS AT THE LATCH STRIKER IF BOLTS LOOSE MOVE STRIKER TO CORRECT POSITION SLOWLY CLOSE TRUNK LID UNTIL THE TRUNK LID LATCH AND LATCH STRIKER COME IN CONTACT TO CLOSE TRUNK.ONCE BOTH ADJUSTMENTS CORRECT. TIGHTEN THE LATCH STRIKER BOLTS TRUNK SHOULD NOW CLOSE.

How to make the trunk wont close


you have a jamed trunk lock so try spraying it with a lubricant if still no results readjust the trunk lock.. it might help.

I know the problem, u must replace the auto pull down as an assembly, very common problem.

Rear trunk wont close, power trunk wont close mechanisms seem to be fine just wont latch


You can adjust the trunk lid by loosening the bolts at the hinges. If that wont work then there is a micro switch incorporated within the trunk latch. You will need to replace the entire latch unit unfortunatly.

My trunk on my eldorado 87 wont catch to close


sounds like the the trunk pull down assy is not raising. On the pull down is a black little piece of plastic ( part of the switch ), Flip up plastic to see if motor wll raise pull down, then the trunk can be closed normally. If it doesn't raise, further diagnosis will be required in the pull down motor area
