Question about 1992 Nissan 240SX Fastback

Car will start once and then not again until it cools off. When you turn the switch it will only click to relay that is mounted on the fender wall, but it will not engage the started. The battery is fully charged and we have replaced the starter with another used one. Car runs fine after it starts and it will run until you cut it off. It is a manual shift transmission and you can kick start it when it does not start. Any help is extremely appreciated

My car wont start when It's hot outside


It sounds like a battery problem or a battery connection issue.
Do you have side mounted connections on the battery is the battery solidly mounted to the tray it can't bounce around .
Have the battery tested for a dead cell also if nothing else works check the main junction mounted on the fire wall or inner fender wall all of the wiring comes together at this point computer ignition and and all acc voltage

My 95 ford f150 runs great till it warms up it seems then the fuel pump looses power n shuts down wait few mins kicks back on runs fine till few min later


Sounds like your ignition module it is common on fords to do this when its cool it will start and run fine but once it heats up the truck dies until you let it cool down again and then your up and running till it heats up again. Some modules are mounted on the fender others are mounted with the distributor have it checked and let me know how it went.

Truck wont start


It could be the fender mounted starter relay under the hood. Or if you took off the small wire at that relay (its from the ignition switch), it should have voltage when the key is held in start. If it does have power in start, probably the relay. If no power in start, either the switch or the neutral safety switch is acting up.

2003 ford explorer wont start hear a click under the hood, i tried to jump it and it wont start. do u think it needs a starter?


Go under the car and have a helper hold the key in the start position while you probe the wire to the solenoid for 12 volts, also do a voltage test on the positive battery cable and inspect it at the battery for acid intrusion near the positive battery post clamp, if acid has gotten into the cable the outer insulation will appear swollen and the cable must be replaced, this is a common cause of no starts on Explorers.

Is there a starter relay mounted on the fender well/wall.The jeep is all of the sunden not starting.There is plenty of power and then u turn the key and all dead is what you get.I can hear a clicking like...


yes, there is a starter relay, usually somewhere in the engine compartment. If that is clicking, the problem could be the solenoid. You could verify the solenoid is bad by trying test 2 of my post at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6222268-engine_doesnt_crank_turn_over . Let me know if you have questions.

Can't tell you without being there but check the starter relay and all connections at battery, starter and grounds both on engine and fender. Check with a test light or volt meter (Meter is better because it will show power drop off if any) Test with key in run position and in start position as well. Don't forget there is a neutral safety switch that can also fail so check in park and neutral also.

Car continues to turn over after switch is turned off. tries to crank until battery is dead or cable is removed.


Change the starter solenoid/relay switch, follow the positive battery cable right to the solenoid, should be next to the battery mounted on the inner fender well.

Rolls over but won't start until fuel relay clicks 10 or so times


Check for good grounding at both the fender where the relay is mounted and at the dashboard support Relays turn into "buzzers" when not properly grounded (also check ground right at the relay)
