    Thanks for your response!!

Each headlamp has its own fuse and the ground is provided by the head lamp dimmer switch, the low beams and the high beams ground at different points G103 for high beams. G105 for the low beams.

There is an open in the ground circuit for both of the high beams this could come from Splice 243 through the switch down to G103.The first place I would check is G103 near the battery (diagram below).

Because the switch is on the ground side of the circuit you should find voltage all the way up to the point of the open.

Example: if you check the pink wire leading into the switch and it still has voltage and none leaving through circuit 251 then the switch is at fault.

    The Schematic would be :-

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice

1987 gmc headlights want come on help

check for power and grounds at the headlight plug for both lights as you could have 2 burnt out lights, have had this happen a few times. you don`t say if its just the low beams. there are 3 wires one is the ground one is low beam and one is high beam. it could also be the headlight switch that is bad on the headlight circuit only. have had this happen twice. you would have to remove the switch from the dash to gain access to the plug connector to test the wires coming out of the switch, for the headlights. a third thing is it could be the dimmer switch that is bad. myself I would check the dimmer switch first then the headlight plug at the lights then the switch for the headlights.

It sounds like the day running lights are coming on, not the headlights. If I'm right, the lights would come on when you put it in gear. Other models will come on at engine start. If it is the running lights, not the headlights, you can check by setting the parking brake. This turns off the running lights, but not the headlights. Verify this, and I think you will be happy to find there is nothing wrong. Good luck!

Headlights will not come on

This will either be a blown fuse or the headlight switch, check for blown fuses and if they are all ok then you will have to get the headlight switch tested.

1979 Mustang Ghia; Only Headlights won't come on

unless both headlights burnt out at once, i would say its headlight switch, or possibly the dimmer switch, if it was me instead of paying the long dollar at a parts store i would get both out of a bone yard and try it, you only be out a couple bucks if that is not it. most parts stores you can't return electrical parts.

95 mustang gt headlight problem

Its your headlight switch... I have the same problem with my mustang.... After time goes on it wears on the copper connectors on the headlight switch and they will either get loose or they will bend and at times losing connections... I picked up the headlight switch from Auto Zone for $16.99... AND I believe that the sound you're hearing isn't coming form your engine but its coming from the headlight switch... Dont quote me on it but I am sure thats where its coming from... Due losing and gaining connection...
