This car does NOT have a carb. It is FUEL INJECTED. There are many solutions but I suggest simply adjusting the idle screw on the throttle body for now. Looking at the car, follow the from the air filter box (driver side in engine bay). You will follow a large black tube up to the engine. Where it becomes metal is the throttle body. Look for a large flathead screw in a hole facing directly upwards towards the trunk on this. Adjust it counter clockwise to increase idle, clockwise to lower idle.

what market was this built for then ,only older vehicle i have seen with fuel injection was the old triumph 2000PI ,now if its fuel injection then it must have a idle control valve somewhere where more air is allowed into the inlet manifold also these older vehicles had a adjusting screw in the airintake where the expert has stated ,sorry have to go to work now

Fuel pump not geting power

usually the oil pressure switch is connected with the fuel system if this is bad it tells the ecm not to power the fuel pump because it thinks the engine has low or no oil in it.

Toyota mr2 import

Looks like the same problem I had.
Mine 91 non turbo had the same high idle. I tried everything including new alternator and vacc controls that costed me big. Finally I took the fixing out of the shop to my hand and checked every single thing in engine bay. Amazingly to find out real simple things been giving me hard time.
To make it short, the gas throttle cable got stuck in transition box. Cleaned it with WD 40 and lubed and everything went back to zoom zoom.

Hope it ll help in your case,

Andrew
