Question about 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe

I filled up my Sante Fe this morning, and minutes later, it was leaking gas under the back seat passenger side. What is causing this?Is it better to take it to the dealership for repair or some other place?

This is a easy DIY job ,lift the seat and you will see a rubber cover then lift this cover and you will see the top of the sender unit which contains the fuel pump also. Now check the flexable rubber pipe connections ,if leaking just renew the pipes ,but i have a feeling its the breather pipe on the top of the tank ,have a look anyway yourself as it could save you a few euros

I have a 2003 Hyaundi Sante Fe that developed a gas leak. I can see the line that has a pinhole in it. Can I cut out the bad part and splice this?

most times that will not work. the pressure is to high. I do not advise it. replace the whole section till you get to a mechanical junction fuel leaks cause fire and explosions.

I would try checking with Hyundai's cooperate office cust svc to see if there are any recalls, or service bulletins regarding this problem. I do know some of these vehicles that have this issue ended up having the vehicles computer flashed, also known as reprogramming. Its basically a software update for your vehicle's computer.

I have the same issue with my 2003 Sante Fe. After I fill up, (whether it's 1/2 a tank or 1/4), my car will stall unless I pump the gas for about 60 sec. My Sante Fe has around 104,000 miles- it also only gets 13 miles to the gallon. I also had an issue with the check engine light. I had 4 different garages check it and all 4 told me they didn't know why it was on (has beem on since 2005). I recently replaced the battery and it went off. Ever since I've had the problem filling up.
