I agree with checking the output, also I would make sure your not touching the bulbs when you put them in because the oils on your fingers will heat up and cause the bulb to burn out, also would maybe switch the relays around and see if it makes a change

Lowbeams on headlights are out ,what's the cause?

Check out the bulbs - could be that the low beam filament has burned out - very common since they are used the most. If both filaments a re good check to see if both are on the same fuse and replace it.

One headlight on my 04 f250 lowbeam only won't work even with new bulb

Try a new Relay. Sometimes Ford uses the same part in other sockets. The horn relay may be interchangeable for testing.

Relays are shown in the help section of Autozone.com when you register your vehicle.

Lowbeam headlights wont work, brake lights are out and check engine light is on...changed th dimmer switch, no luck

For the low beam problem, Swap relays 45 & 46 in the underhood fuse panel. Relay 46 is for the Low Beams. If that fixes the light, replace the relay that cam out of position 46.
Since the high mounted brake light is working, that indicates that the brake switch is good. You need to check the bulbs in the rear tail light assembly, if they are good, check fuse #34.

My lowbeams don't come on for my 2005 Volkswagen Jetta. (Although the highbeams do come on.) I just discovered this tonight. Could this be a burned out fuse or other electrical problem?

Head lights can be a pain at times but before jumping to conclusions... Have you taken the low beam bulbs out and checked the continuity on them...
The filaments could break and then make a short term contact causing your right lamp to come back on.
Check the bulbs with an ohms meter first before searching for more difficulties.

How to deenergize lowbeam headbeam headlight for replacement???

You really don't have to de energize the bulb. Just make sure the lights are in the off position. It uses a D2R 35W HID Capsule bulb part number D2R in Osram/Sylvania. Just remember not to touch the glass on the new bulb while installing it.
