How do I remove the front hub/wheel assembly? Hi there; I am attempting to replace the wheel bearing/ABS sensor assy on the front left of my 2002 GMC Yukon XL 1500 (*4-Wheel Drive*). So far, I have...

They are fitted very securely into the axle. It will come out as it is just splined onto the output shaft. The secret is equal pressure to the rear of the hub. Because of the close tolerances, it cant just be pulled from one spot on the hub as that jams the opposite side. Tap around the rear of the hub with a hammer in a circular pattern or use a 3 jaw puller to exert equal pressure.

2003 Yukon xl feels like 4 wheel drive on driver side stays in all the time. Feels like it is riding ruff on driver side.

Your description leaves open a lot of possibilities, but one common issue with these vehicles are wheel bearings. If you have access to a jack, you can lift one side of the front of the vehicle so that the tire is hanging in the air. Grab the top and the bottom of the tire and try to push and pull the tire toward you and away from you. There should be essentially no play or movement. if there is, your bearings need replacing.

4 wheel drive service light came on seems like front wheels are not engageing, i feel it shifting like its in gear but i dont have the traction what should i look for?

It's pretty basic actually. The encoder motor engages 4WD within the transfer case which drives the front differential. The drivers side wheel is always engaged at this point and the passengers side wheel is engaged via a vacuum controlled cable (actuator - lunder the battery). There are no "hubs" (so-to-speak), not in the way that you use to see on the older systems where you'd have to lock them.

Wet floor on the passanger side in front and behind front seat. took out front seat and nothing. 2003 yukon xl 1500 2 wheel drive

Check your radiator fluid level, if it is low it is a good chance your heater core or the hose to the heater core has a leak. The heater core is a small version of a radiator which has the air from the blower blow across it to force warm air into the cabin of the vehicle. You will need to probe under the passenger's dash to locate the leak.

do not replace only the bearing. replace hub assembly. remove rim/tire , remove caliper, mounting plate, rotor. . un bolt hub assembly, unplug abs. remove front axle nut if 4x4. you may need to rent the axle nut remove kit and hub puller. pull out hub. drive axle reward out of hub. install new part. do not torque hub over 90lbs. check with parts sell for spec
