When you replace the seals for fuel injectors, it's a good idea to soak the rubber seals in gasoline before installing them. This will help the rubber to swell a bit. Remove your battery connection before working on your car if you couldn't find your fuel pump relay. This give you fire insurance.

Maybe you fried your ign control module. If dry chemical went inside the intake you'll have to clean that up preventing it getting sucked inside the combustion chamber. If you fire this inside, you might bend a valve, damage your cat converter, damage your 02 sensors, damage your exhaust valve.

Working with fuel is risky, even if fire or sparks are not present it can ignite from compressing the mixture. Maybe you should buy more insurance. Remember a real mechanic may not know how each and every car works but knows every danger involved while working on it. Safety first. Cut all power before screwing around electrical work.

Son has a mazda protege dx runs rough when cold, backfires through intake, gasoline in oil, thinking idle air, but could it be injectors?

Gas in the oil can only get there threw the injector/s. One is stuck open. replace them all if it is worth the car. Back firing, I would check compression on the cylinders first, add a little oil first to all cylinders first, one or more cylinders are dry from the fuel, before putting any more money into it. Back firing threw the throttle body, could be timing or burnt valves.

Truck backfires at even throttle

check for leaking injectors and vacuum leaks as there is fuel getting into the exhaust system and igniting. check ignition timing as it may be retarded too far.

Where is the gas filter

Fuel Filter CAUTION
Observe all applicable safety precautions when working around fuel. Whenever servicing the fuel system, always work in a well ventilated area. Do not allow fuel spray or vapors to be exposed to a spark or open flame. Keep a dry chemical fire extinguisher near the work area. Always keep fuel in a container specifically designed for fuel storage; also, always properly seal fuel containers to avoid the possibility of fire or explosion. The purpose of the in-line fuel filter is to provide filtration to protect the small metering orifices of the injector nozzles. The filter is located downstream of the electric fuel pump and is mounted on the underbody. The fuel filter is a one-piece construction that cannot be cleaned. If it becomes clogged, it must be replaced. prev.gif next.gif

My Audi 500 SEL 1993 model is difficult to start - as if there is not enough fuel injected when the engine is cranked. Agents tell me that the injectors are leaking and needs replacement. I don't agree...

bad fuel, bad fuel pump, clogged fuel fiter, injectors or fuel fiter. If injectors are leaking at o-rings on rail or cylinder head your sucking in air and changing mixture ratio, computer can't compensate. Try all these things before proceding further... also when cold thew seals may be holding but when warmed up this is can be a very dangerous fire condition!

`i` have a 1998 jeep grand cherokee and it keeps backfiring and running like ****...I had a code po720 but changed the output sensor and the transmission sensor changed the throttle sensor and still same...

back firing ( explosions in the exhaust) can be from fuel mixture too rich and unburnt fuel is getting to the hot exhaust
possible causes for that are excessive fuel pressure , leaking injectors ,leaking injector seals
backfiring through the inlet manifold can be calve timing, ---cam advance servo-- valve staying open ---valve clearance , problem hydraulic cam follower , incorrect firing order for the plug wires, crank/cam position sensors or wiring
