Question about 1999 Lexus RX 300
If you do this yourself, 1 tip, i painstakingly unplugged it witht he switch still in place and then read later that it easier to undo the nut holding it on to the mount at the top of brake pedal and tHEN undo the snap togeter plastic plug.
It also doesn't hurt to be "Houdini" body flexible since you hav to lay on your back to do, or at least I did, but it's doable by yourself.

Replace the stop light switch. It is a $24 part, mounted on the upper brake pedal. I will attempt to include a pic below.
