Look at the compressor with engine running and AC off - centre of pulley should remain still... then switch on AC and look again to see if the centre starts spinning.

If still not spinning then it could just require a recharge, get the pressure checked.

2012 Fiesta clicking sound coming from glove compartment

I think this may be the heater/AC air temperature control blend door actuator motor gears slipping over teeth, this is due to a sticking blend door that is hard for the electric motor to move due to heat warping. Remove the dash and replace them is my advice.

I have a 2004 ford explorer. My ac only blows cold air and their is an knocking noise coming from the dash in the area around the ac. Can you please help?

That is the blend door actuator. It is mounted on the top of the evaporator case behind the radio/glove box area. The plastic gears inside of that device wore their teeth off and won't open the heater core side of the case.

Check to see if the compressor is coming on if not check the blend door actuator behind the glove compartment. If it is bad it is $59 at autozone
