I have lost all horse power and i keep getting code 43 and my car is going into limp mode im lost i changed the knock sensors and computer plugs and wires whats next

I have a 2003 chyrsler 300m it went in limp mode codes p0700. P0340 p0344 p0430 p0888 came up cleared the codes and now it knocks.


clearing codes wont correct the problem and limp mode is designed to protect motor and transmission - p0700 is a transmission problem
P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction p0340 is camshaft position sensor malfunction

Can a bad knock sensor cause a tranny to go stay in 2nd gear(limp mode)on a 2008 dodge ram 3.7 liter.Got 2 codes a #2 knock sensor and tcm power low voltage


The transmission is in limp-in mode because of the second DTC - TCM (transmission control module) low voltage. The knock sensor code has nothing to do with that. You need to have the TCM and transmission checked out.

Limp in mode has to deal with engine sensors and electrical power and grounds from the computer IF the basic engine is good such as compression, fuel pressure, charging system.

cam/crank and knock sensors can put the engine in limp mode. knock sensors are more prone to go on a diesel engine... you really need to have the codes read instead of changing parts. some times a faulty cam/crank sensor will not come up as it will only have the fault at certain speeds.

What is ECU


The knock sensor is commonly located on the engine block and essentially listens for improper combustion when the engine is running. Engine knock, or spark knock, is the noise created when the combustion process is erratic or abnormal. Code p0330 indicates that the knock sensor has picked up a frequency outside of the factory-set frequency range for the combustion chamber. The computer uses information from the knock sensor to adjust the engine ignition timing to keep combustion within the safe zone of operation. In general, when the knock sensor code is set, the computer will put the engine into limp mode to help prevent engine damage.

would this sensor going cause the car to go into limp mode? have a slight knock sometimes from under drivers side when car excelorating, now its started going into a limp mode when seemingly on bypasses and motorways but car runs fine on normal roads

On my 1991 chevy blazer s10 I get error code 43. What is it and how do I fix it


Hi, the indication is that your computer is not receiving a good signal from the knock sensor. Recommend you check the connector on the sensor and the wire. Also make sure the sensor isn't loose in the block. If those look good, you may want to just replace the sensor. A new one is $30 at autozone. Without the knock sensor signal, the computer will default the ignition timing toward a less fuel efficient value. The sensor looks like the picture below and is mounted in the engine block. You may have 2 knock sensors--one on each side of the engine. Sorry, but I could not find a good picture of the location. I will keep looking for one, though.

1997 concorde. Turned ignition on/off/on/off/on and received code: 1-2-5-4-5-5 I can not find this code online. Driving down the road it just quit running.


You have three codes there
12 - Memory standby power recently lost (Recently disconnected the battery, always appears this code (not problem))
Power loss light: Off
Limp-in mode: None

54 - No fuel injector sync pickup signal during engine rotation
Power loss light: On
Limp-in mode: Logic module will guess at injector timing

Possible Causes
Bad connection or wiring - Check the wiring and connections between the hall effect sensor (located underneath the distributer cap) and the logic module. Check the continuity of the two 3 conductor cables coming out of the sensor--these are prone to fatiguing and breaking inside the insulation where they exit the sensor if the cables are not properly tied down. You may be able to resolder them. Clean and regrease any corroded connectors with dielectric grease and repair any shorts.

Hall effect sensor failure - Check the two, flat 3 conductor cables coming out of the sensor. These often fatigue where they exit from the sensor. Upon replacing the sensor, make sure the cables are clipped or tied to the distributor cap shroud (or elsewhere) so they do not swing around.

Diagnostic Method - Trigger Parameters
- Engine cranking or running (signal coming from ignition reference sensor)
- No signal from the fuel injector sync pickup sensor

Results If Component Fails: Fault code 54 is stored. The engine will stall and will not start.

55 - End of message (Test Finished)
Power loss light: Off
Limp-in mode: None

Loses power while going down the road, have replace the plugs, changed the fuel filter. will start, but loses power when driving.


have you looked at the air filter? have you done a catalyst efficiency test? this could be a plugged cat. save yourself the time and aggrevation and locate a reputable muffler/exhaust repair facilty and have them check the catalytic convertor. happy holidays
