My number 6 sparkplug is misfiring on my 2010

Have a compression test done on number 6 cylinder to see if compression ring or valve damage is causing misfire. The ECM can also be the cause as it controls the firing of the coils.

Sparkplugs are not firing on my 2004 Mustang 4.6 engine. What are common causes?

Test crankshaft positioning sensor. Also, I have seen the key shear on the harmonic balancer causing everything to be out of time. Are you sure there's no spark; or is it maybe sparking at the wrong time?

NOT FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS

By now a Check light should have appeared. If you can make it to an Autozone, Advance, or Oreilys for a free scan it will help.

Read up on articles about "Cam Phasers". The DOHC engines had them.

A compression test could cause more problems as the sparkplugs have issues too. Read articles about removing sparkplugs from Ford engines with extended reach plugs.

About the only external part you could try to change would be the crankshaft sensor. It would cause the symptoms you describe.

Glowing manifold

The good thing is no fire. This happens when there is a severe misfire mainly with the ignition system. A blown head gasket cannot make this happen. The ignition fired out of sequence, a jumped timing belt will cause the vehicle timing to ****** so a timing belt is not the issue.Your solution and the fix is get a whole new distributor with a cap and rotor(the rotor internally broked) sparkplug wires new sparkplugs . A plugged catalytic will cause the car to have no power when acclerating , you didnt blow the engine a blown engine cannot cause a glowing manifold. only a good engine can

I change the engine on the car and it's bacfireing and hard to start with backfireing at all the time but it's runing it run fine

This sounds like a crossed sparkplug wire, start by making sure the firing order is correct, if theres a sparkplug wire in the wrong spot this would cause hard starting and the backfiring, so check the firing order first, i would of given you a firing order diagram but you forgot to list the year, make , model and the engine size. good luck and have a good day.

Gotta be something to do with your tires. Maybe jack it up and see if one is loose.

Main cause of mis firing and hard starting

main cause of firing is problem with spark plug, spark plug wire, or ignition coil of your vehicles. try a obd check up. get a detailed report on sensors. then change all spark plug. And if the problem still persists, unplug sparkplug wire one by one while engine is on. then check the difference. usually engine misfires while any plug is disconnected. thanks

Replaced sparkplugs and sparkplug wires, now runs rough. I checked connections all tight. check firing orger, looks right. run good till I touched it. Help.

Check the firing order with the firing order diagram that I have uploaded, and if that does not solve the problem then remove the spark plugs and be certain that there is an even spark plug gap between all of the spark plugs, (see the emission label under the hood for the correct spark plug gap) and be certain that there is not any split-fire or multi-fire spark plugs installed in the engine, because those plugs will not work with an OBD-II system, and a random mis-fire is the least that they will cause if installed in an OBD-II controlled vehicle.

How to replace spark plugs for 1999 ford contour

to replace spark plugs remove spark plug wire boots. use special sparkplug socket or else you can break the sparkplug. to remove turn ratchet counterclockwise remove all four one at a time, make sure that the sparkplug gap is correct. most plugs come pregapped...read the box it will tell.you. do not overtigheten plug once it has fully seated give it a good snug....if you do one at a time you dont need to mark the spark plug wires. if you mix up the wires your car will back fire which could cause severe internal damage.
