Question about 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab
I have to reset the computer on my 1997 ram 1500 318 V8 every few days because the idle drops to the point that it almost wants to stall. Can someone tell me why and what I need to do to fix the problem?
What is the engine code/s that are coming up?
Just state the digits that you see, I don't need the definitions. I would guess that it is a either a fuel or emission related problem. Possibly A broken vacuum line, MAP,EGR, IAC,EVAP, or so on. If by resetting the ECM, it makes the symptoms disappear. Then try to look at the readiness status. And as each system shows "COMPLETE", try to conclude which system may be connected to the low idle issue. The more you find the closer we should be able to get. Good luck.
