Remove the oil filler neck, you can then lift up on the front of the cover, it interlocks with a rear mount, just lift up and pull out.

My 1997 buick lesabre runs for awhile then dies. let it set for awhile and it will start back up.

While it is acting up check for spark at the spark plugs. You want to do this after it dies and will not start. If spark is good then check fuel pressure. The fuel pressure should be 48-55 psi with the key on and engine off.Let me know what you find Good luck.

1997 Buick Lesabre Limited Spark or Fuel Problem?

Hi:

Multiple cylinder misfire means that more than one spark plug didn't fire, and that rules out a single spark plug fail.

You are more likely looking at an ignition module, or a coil.

1997 Buick will not start

coil pack played out, or timing chain jumped. Use a timing light to see if you have spark. If you haven't, change the coil pack. If you have spark, then check the timing chain. When you aim your timing light at the timing mark, if it's jumping all over the place, you need a timing chain. If that all checks out, you may have a fuel problem. See if you can hear the fuel pump running for a few seconds when you turn the key to the "on" position. If you can hear it, check and change the fuel filter. Let me know how it goes.

compare the coils before removing the plug wires, then remove one and put it in the same position as on the new coil. do this with all of them and no mistakes can be made.....Is this the same car you reported a code 301 on???
