Just because someone told you ,you have a code, don't start throwing parts at it. That cam sensor is probably okey.

Most likely at the front of the engine above the water pump, directly over the camshaft.

Should be bolted to the right front side of the engine head.

The right side is as you are sitting in the drivers seat. Anytime car parts are labeled left or right it is as viewed from the driver's seat.

It you are facing the front of the engine it will be on your left.

Where is locate the camshaft position sensor on 2001 jeep grand cherokee laredo limited 4.7 l

The camshaft position sensor is located inside the distributor. It is a hall effect swich, simply remove the distributor cap and the rotor and you can lift it out, unplug and replace.
Have fun but beware a bad crankshaft position sensor can cause a false cam sensor code to be set sometimes.
Good luck.

Change out the camshaft sensor. Located in the distributer assembly (circular plastic piece with wires comming out when you remove the cap). Should solve the problem!

1999 jeep cherokee laredo camshaft sensor location on engine

Your problem could very well be a crank sesor. The location of this is on the bell housing drivers side on top. I don't remember there being a camshaft sensor, unless your refering to the sensor in the distributor.
