Use Vaseline on the injectors oRing when installing. If not used a nick can be made on the seal and fuel will leak being a fire hazzard. I see some cars every year on the highway blazing away because of neglect when replacing fuel injectors

SOURCE: R and R fuel injectors

About 2 hours if you are talented in auto repair. Remember to put oil on the new O rings before you reinstall injectors, also clean out the injectors port holes.

SOURCE: How do you replace the O-rings on the fuel injector?

to relieve pressure, there may be a purge valve somewhere on the injector rail, or if not, simply loosen one of the injectors slowly until pressure bleeds off of the system. then replace the o-rings carefully so as not to tear them.

SOURCE: fuel injector is leaking, replaced

The "o"-ring only seals the manifold vacuum

You need someone to properly test all
your injectors.
They could go for as much as $100 ea,
so you want to diagnose the issue, not
install parts ,as a possible wish & hope fix

injectors are sealed where they go in the manifold by "O" rings
If you didn't use new "O" rings when replacing the injectors or used lubricant like grease to help install the injector through the rings ,it is possible that fuel pressure is allowing fuel past the injector tip into the cylinder.

Leaking fuel at injector

Leaking fuel at the injector is too risky, your going to have to replace the injector or injectors. They come out by the removale of the fuel rail. Here you need to be careful cause you can cause other injector to crack and make unnecessary expense.

Replacing a fuel injector on a 2002 volkswagen jetta

To replace the fuel injectors, first the fuel pressure needs to be relieved, then remove engine appearance cover. Then remove air cleaner and air cleaner ducting. Then comes vacuum hoses, remove the hoses and electrical connectors that prevent you from accessing the fuel rail. Disconnect the fuel send and return lines and unplug the electrical connectors for the fuel injectors. -------- You will need socket wrench to relieve fuel pressure and to remove bolts on fuel rail. Complete fuel rail assembly will come out with injectors, then you will have to remove injectors from fuel rail. -------- With new fuel injectors use new O-ring.Don't use old O-ring,use new O-ring. ---------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

You could do it, but remember gasoline is flammable and volatile and can be hazardous to work with: REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION 1.9L Engines
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:
    • Negative battery cable
    • Fuel rail
    • Fuel injector retaining clip off the injector
    • Fuel injector
    • Fuel injector O-rings and discard them Fig. 1: Fuel injector identification-1.9L engine 9306zg58.gif
To install: NOTE: The SOHC and DOHC fuel injectors are not interchangeable. The injectors are identified by a color coded plastic ring near the bottom of the injector. The SOHC injector has a blue ring near the O-ring that mates to the intake manifold and the DOHC has a pink ring.
  4. Lubricate the new fuel injector O-ring with clean engine oil.
  5. Install or connect the following:
    • New O-ring seals on the fuel injector
    • Retaining clip to the fuel injector
    • Fuel injector to the fuel rail
    • Fuel rail
    • Negative battery cable
  6. Start the vehicle and check for leaks, repair if necessary.

My 2001 chevy blazer (v-6, 4.3L)., has a fuel injector problem and I would like to know how to repair the number 5 injector.

You will need to remove the fuel rail bolted to the intake manifold. There maybe a clip holding on the injector. Spraying some WD-40 on the ends of the injectors to aid removal, also when installing, spray some on the O-rings, will help in installing them. Make sure all are seated.

How to replace the fuel injectors on a 2002 Tahoe?

To Install:
  1. Lubricate the NEW fuel injector O-rings with clean engine oil.
  2. Install the O-rings on the fuel injector.
  3. Install a NEW retainer clip on the fuel injector.
  4. Install the fuel injector in the injector socket with the electrical connector facing outward. The retainer clip locks onto a flange at the fuel rail injector socket.
  5. Install the fuel rail.
NOTE: Use care in removing the fuel injectors in order to prevent damage to the electrical connector pins on the injector and to prevent damage to the nozzle. Service the fuel injector as a complete assembly only. The fuel injector is an electrical component. DO NOT immerse the fuel injector in any type of cleaner.

are you sure that the fuel injectors were clean when you replaced the o-ring or maybe there is still a piece of o-ring left inside the fuel injector port if this still does not work then replace o-ring with two rings a smaller o-ring and a larger one
