SOURCE: fuel pressure problem.I replaced the fuel pump on 2001 chevy s-10

Most fuel injected vehicles have a relay that controls the fuel pump so after the ignition switch has been on for about 5 seconds and the engine is not running, the fuel pump automatically shuts off.
I don't know what your original problem was, but I think if the car runs normally, you have probably fixed your problem. If you don't have a manual, you can probably go to the library and take a look at a manual that covers your vehicle.

SOURCE: fuel pressure regulator had no vacuum line connected

another engineers wet dream. think of it this way . what is normally in the intake when the engine is running.. answer vacume, hence the regulator gets its vacume without a hose connected to it as its already in a full time vacume chamber.no hose required . ps be carefull to seat the regulator and o rings securely into the housing befor you reattach the secureing metal clip.
good luck chris

SOURCE: where is the fuel pressure regulator on a 4.8 2001

The fuel pressure regulator is located on the injector rail on top of the engine driver's side. #2 on the link i gave you is the vacuum tube to the fuel pressure regulator.

SOURCE: where do i find fuel pressure regulator on an 2001

it's on the end of the fuel rail. Vacuum operated regulator failure usually results in rich condition. You should check pressure to see if your pump is getting the job done. Cannot find the spec on pressure but a new pump for your car delivers 80-100 psi. Let me know if you have more questions.

My 2001 cavalier won't start tho the battery is new; it acts like it's not getting fuel even tho it has half a tank

Disconnect the fuel line off the carb then turn the starter over. There should be gas shoot out. If not your fuel pump may be shot. have you ever changed the fuel filter? If its plugged it will not work.

2005 cavalier fuel pressure regulator

I doubt it is coming from the pressure regulator. The regulator should have a vac hose going to the manifold that would **** the gas into the engine and run very rich.
The short answer is YES that is very bad, but I wonder where the raw fuel is coming from.

Sounds like you have a bad fuel pressure regulator.Take the vacuum hose off the regulator and look for fuel if there is fuel present replace regulator. But if you don't have in vacuum hose hook a fuel gauge up to fuel rail then start the engine look at reading on gauge now pull vacuum hose off and if pressure does'nt rise 5-10 psi replace pump.

If the vehicle is flooding then the pressure regulator is probably bad not registering enough fuel to the system and shutting off the pump in the tank.
