Replace all fuses. Have battery and alternator checked for free at an auto store. Then use a code reader to determine if any new codes are showing up from the improper jump.

My 97 Sonoma starts, doesn't start. It jumps easily. When I turn the key, I get nothing - no dashboard lights, no engine crank.

Do the dash lights come on with the jumper cables? Did someone connect the jumper cables backwards? Sounds like a main fuse blown. Check the plastic fuse box under the hood near the battery on top of the inner fender. All power to the truck begins there. Check for large fuses 30 amp to 60amp. check everything in that box, relays too.

Jumper started now have no power

its common when using a running engine to jump start a car that the car being jumped recieves a power spike in the process.start by checking all the fuses mainly the big ones eg 50 60 80 amp and the fusable links in line of high amp positive supplies.if that checks out get the ecu tested

Saturn jumper cables hooked up backwards

Try charging the battery more. Even though your lights may come one, starting a vehicle requires massive amounts of amperage from the batter. It's possible that your jumper cables aren't a thick enough guage to supply enough power as well. Sometimes the vehicle you're jumping from might not have enough power to support your vehicle's starting power requirements.

1998 Acura tl 3.2 no start no noise

First check your battery condition and state of charge, next check your battery cables for cleanliness and tightness. Did this happen after jump starting the vehicle? If so the jumper cables may have been hooked up backwards causing the main fuse to blow in the underhood fuse box. Check that next. Then you need to check for a start signal at the starter which is best accessed from the drivers side under the vehicle.

Car stalls when i press the gas when starting rough idle

Make sure it's charging ok.
Jump starting can cause trouble.
If you don't have a way to check the voltage ,put jumper cables
on it and see if it runs better.

91geo prism had a dead battery, jump started it And the battery light stayed on, so I put a new battery in and will not start but spins over great. Found the 30 amp fuse bad on the positive cable and...

You will need to check all the fuses, the main and inside fuse box. for the amp fuse to blow the jumper cables or battery were installed backwards. check all fuses i think you will find another bad one. as far as the batttery light being on, you may have a bad alternator. the car will run until it drains the new battery. the battery light may still be on once you get car started. have the charging system checked.

Again i think its just a bad fuse, the car was starting fine until the battery replacement.

The last thing is that sometimes they loose the idle memory or get flooded from connecting battery with key on, try to start by controlling the gas. hold gas pedal to floor and try to start engine. asengine starts slowly release gas. if car stalls out when gas pedal is let go then restart and hold gas pedal a little for about 2min then release and let idle, good day.

I bought a 1999 ford escort zx2 black 5 speed car and i got told the guy jumped it and under the dash on the drivers side started smoking bad and i cant find it... but the car will start and run but wont...

check all fuses, if one is blown replace and see if it blows instantly. If it does then those wires to that circuit are melted causing a short which could be draining the battery. but also check the battery with a cold draw test to make sure batt is good. could of been a ground wire under dash that smoked but you should be able to locate a melted casing on a wire. check battery first to be sure.
