Try using the door key to lock and un lock the drivers door. Pulling the fuse for the security system will guarantee the engine will never start.

Need a diagram or a video of how to do a power steering pressure line on a 2000 pontiac grand am 4 cyl 2,4l

Hi James:
The hose (or line) will be threaded on at each end. Just unscrew the couplings and install the replacement. Then top up the fluid.

I have a 96 Pontiac GP with a 3.1 I would like to know what other 3.1 GM motors that interchange with my 3.1 I want to stay with my 3.1

96 to 99 Is good, 3.1 or 3.4 are both the same. You can go up to 04 or 05. You will have to change out brackets and sensor. But the engine is the same.

1996 Pontiac Grand Am overheating

If its the 3.1L it could be your intake manifold gasket , the material used for the gasket does not react well with GM's Dex-Cool antifreeze. The leak may not be apparent at first, but I would pressure test the cooling system. If you look at the front of the motor by the belts , try to peek down at the intake manifold and check for slight seapage to an obvious leak.

If its either of the Quad-4's they were notorious for heads warping or cracking.
