Question about 1995 Toyota Camry

1995 Camrys with issues like yours are usually traceable to two distinct possibilities.
One is a broken wire that runs along the trunk lid, and the other is the lamp failure sensor module.
What you can do: Open the trunk, and examine the wiring harness that is coming from the driver's side of the trunk, and part of it goes up along the underside of the lid. Remove all of the tape, and check for a broken wire or two., This is a very common occurance.
The other culprit can be a failed lamp senor. Pull back the carpeting inside the trunk cavity on the driiver's side. Look for a metal brace. On the side of the brace that faces the quarter panel, you will see a small plastic box. Using a small screwdriver, pry it open, and look at the circuit board for any burnt components. If you see discolouration, like burnt resistors, this will be your problem
