I have a 2004 Toyota Matrix with a vibration noise coming from the front end. The noise gets louder the faster you drive and is present even when you push in on the clutch and put it in neutral. If the driver jerks the wheel to the right when driving the noise stops for a second. The noise keep up at the same pitch if you **** the wheel to Left. If you think it's a wheel bearing, which side would you guess?
Check the VAG code. I had the same problem with my MK V 1.4 FSI. Let me guess when you rev it, it dusnt shake anymore?
It might be one of your cylinders are misfiring. And this might be faults with spark plugs, coil pack or the injector. You'll be lucky if it is the first two as they aren't much expensive to repair. It will cost you if it is the injectors.
Usually when this happens it tells the tech that the left outer CV Joint is starting to dry up from lose of grease. The rubber boot could be torn and spitting out grease. When you turn right, most of the car's weight is tranfered to the left wheel. The same thing happens when you turn left, the weight is transfered to the right wheel. Lift it up and inspect the Constant Velocity Joints inner and outter rubber boots for leakage or tearing, there are two each axle. Most of the time it would only need a new boot and repacked with high temp grease.
What colour is this light.
The Golf mk4 sdi certainly should have brake pad wear sensors front and
rear and the light on dash for this is orange with a similar symbol to
what you describe.
The ABS light is orange with ABS printed on it

Check the turbo pipes for internal splitting , this will block air flowing through to the engine. Also check if a catalitic convertor is fitted , this could be blocked.
