Got a manual (Haynes) it doesnt have any mention of the wiring to the airbag
What is SRS & what do you mean by your comment
I would have expected better communication from someone with so many votes
I find your comment glib & almost offensive
I hope it wasnt meant as such & is just some kind of regional humour that I dont understand

    Cheers

How to take of stearing wheel of bmw

There will either be two torx bolts behind the steering wheel spokes to release the airbag or in the same place there will be a hole on either side where a flat head screwdriver can be inserted to push a spring clip off a securing clip. Remember to disconnect the battery before touching the airbag. Once the airbag is removed you will easily be able to undo the bolt that retains the steering wheel.

the bentleys manual or even haynes may have a diagram of the stereo wiring loom. A google search for BMW forums will almost certainly help you out.

My ABS light and Airbag light stays on

Get your ABS fixed. The airbag light can only be reset by a dealer. Usually caused by a bad or disconnected seat sensor

BMW 318i SE Airbag light

something in the airbag system is at fault. it could be the airbag(s) itself or any of the sensors that detect a crash to deploy the airbag. i would really take it into BMW and have it checked & repaired. the airbag(s) will not deploy with this light on so your safety is at risk if you are ever in an accident..

Remove me Steering wheel bmw 1999 e46 3 series

Disconnect negative battery cable. Locate airbag retentions on back of steering wheel. Unbolt or unclip retention devices, and release airbag. Then: Unplug airbag electrical connector. Remove nut or bolt in center of steering wheel with pneumatic impact wrench if necessary . Using appropriate steering wheel removal tool kit, carefully remove steering wheel, paying attention to associated wires, etc. Unplug anything not accompanying wheel, or that is in the way. Pay close attention to any rods, or contact pieces associated with the horn button(s.) Replace these upon reinstall. Reverse order to install including tightening center bolt to 35-55 ft-lbs. If this is your first stg wheel removal, try an old chevy, preferrably someone else's! If inexperienced, don't risk bruising your favorite Bimmer!!! Hope this helps you make your decision. BMW 318i SE Airbag light

this problem is most commonly caused by the rotating contact under the steering wheel (also called the clock-spring contact), it has developed and open circuit, the airbag control/diagnostic monitor senses this and disables the airbag system

Replace the clock-spring contact under the steering wheel, it has an open circuit.
