I had problems with a 2000 V70 tailgate lock and it turned out to be broken cables in the tailgate loom where it is tightly cable tied to the car body, near side, beneath plastic roof panel 30cm from tailgate

Tailgate on 96runner won't 0pen. Window works, fuses ok, latch won't engage to open tailgate

You are gonna have to remove the interior panel, and with pliers, open the hatch...either the clip is broken on the handle or the handle itself is broken.

1996 Isuzu Rodeo stuck tail gate

Remove the interior trim panel which will not be easy since the gate is up ---- you can then access the lock mechanism and will probably find a bent linkage rod or a broken plastic retainer clip.

1996 850 spoiler

You will obviously need a spoiler, but also a fitting kit which is available from Volvo. It fits onto the inside of the tailgate. Will take about half an hour to fit.
