Question about 1997 Ford Escort
The fuel filter is located beside the master cylinder. To the left of it, standing in front of the car. Might require special tool to remove fuel line couplings from the filter.

connection problem definately getting loose somewhere or getting cut internally needs checking for sure.

Does your truck have the big fram mounted fuel filter? If so there should be a drain plug where you can drain the water. Instead of having to replace the filter. also I might look at buying my fuel at a different place.

WARNING Do not use any abrasive grinding discs to remove gasket material. Use a plastic manual gasket scraper to remove the gasket residue. Be careful not to scratch or gouge the aluminum sealing surfaces when cleaning them.
