2001 Buick LeSabre speedometer not working after tire change.

I changed all four tires on my car and afterwards the speedometer is not working. It is showing I'm going double my speed or 10 mph over. What is causing this and how do I fix it?

I put on the same size and brand of tire that was on it...the only difference was the type...basically on it was goodyear assurance triple tread and I put on assurance comfort, both recommended for this vehicle.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but they didn't reset the low tire pressure sensor after installing the tires. I noticed it was still flashing low tire pressure, so I did that today. I haven't driven it much to tell if this made a difference or not.

Also, those tires are recommended by the dealer.

Check the button under the reset, you may be in metric mode.

The tires you purchased may not be comprable to the ABS system you have in your vehicle. Check with your local dealer to see what tires your vehicle can use. Then go to the place you purchased the current threads from and get a correct replacement.

Recommended by Buick or the tire center you had them installed by? Either way take it back to the tire center and tell them the problem and see what they say. Have the tire center check for a TSB on this item. Because if the wheel sensors and ECU were reading the speed and slip status of the vehicle correctly before the tires were changed and the only thing that is different are the tires then the problem is the tires. Unless for some weird reason ALL

SENSORS WENT BAD( not likely) THEN THE ONLY THING LEFT TO CHECK IS THE ECU. But a defective ABS Module or ECU for this type of a defect would give a code. While you at the tire center have the vehicle scanned for codes. Keep me posted

2005 LeSabre: Is it a wild coincidence the speedometer started acting up immediately after I left the Valvoline shop, or could this have anything to do with the worker resetting the dash buttons?

Go to the Buick dealer, talk to the service manager, tell them your kid did it..(because they will not help you if they know you went somewhere else to get work they do).. and ask them how to fix it.....then go back to the Valvoline place with your new found info...

How do I reset my tire pressure light when tires are fine

My Lesabre has buttons on the left side of the dash. The one called Gage Info has a number of things like oil pressure check tire pressure heat Battery. Push this button till it says check tire pressure To reset your light push the reset button and hold for fifteen or twenty second and the light on the dash should go out and it will show tire pressure ok on the gage. Before you reset check all four tires for air as one tire could be down 8 or 10 lbs and the light will come back on. they all have to be the same pressure.
When you change your oil you should reset the oil section as well and hold reset the same as above. The oil section tells you how much oil you use over an amount of time.

I got emissions and tires balanced and now my speedometer is climbing up as im driving telling me that im going alot faster than i am on a 2004 buick lesabre custom

The Buick LaSabre custom is a 3800, I think. Your speedometor may very well be correct! Take it out on the highway and time yourself between mile markers. Those cars are very fast; if you got a good tire balance you may be going faster than it feels since the car is smoother riding now.

Hello, a few problem with my 2001..yesterday the code read P404 i just changed the EGR valve a few months ago. also the car shacks at 70mph i got new tires changed the lower control arms mounts strut...

P0404 may be the valve sticking or not operating correctly. I hope you bought at least a AC DELCO valve, all others are not good enough. As for the car shaking @ 70 maybe they did not balance the tires good enough, have them drive it and recommend what to do, maybe you have a bad tire.

I'm looking to buy a 2000 Buick Lesabre...it needs a new transmission, brakes and four tires can you give me an idea as to how much this will cost

Sincerely it might not be too adviceable to tell you to buy a car that you will need to do so much replacements on.

Replacing a Tranny is about $320 and the four tyres is about $185.

Why not go for a car that has all inclusive and working in good condition.

Good luck.

Low tire light came on - tire pressure ok

Because of changing outside temps this happens, just hold reset button on left side of dash until it reads tire pressure 100% again, just make sure your pressure is right before you do it. this is the same for oil changes and the like.
