Question about 1992 Isuzu Rodeo

3 Answers

When pushing the turn signal lever up to make a right, a continual buzzing sound occurs rather than the normal turn signal clicking, front/rear turn signal lights will not function, seemed to be behind the fuses, couldn't locate the exact spot. Left turn works fine, clicking as expected, lights work. Thanks for any help, Carl

Check the flasher, you may have to replace it.

I would check your bulbs in the front and rear on the right side, if they are blown there is no load for the relay/flasher to operate and it just buzes like you described.

On my 2006 PT cruiser the right turn signal in the rear does not work but the front works and I get a fast clicking sound I have checked the bulb and it is good

Check to make sure that the socket for the bulb is getting fire to it. If you use a test light it should get brighter as the signal pulses. If no pulse occurs then check the wiring all the way back to the front to be sure there isn't a cut or crimp in the wire anywhere.

Front right and back right turn signal wont work but the front left and back left do

first check the bulbs on that side by visual or changing to the other side if you can't see that well if the bulbs from the front and back work or are good when checked the flasher has blown out on one side and you have to replace it other possible cause could be a broken wire for the right side lights so look at the connectors for that side front & back if all is good one more thing could do this the actual turn signal lever that you use to activate the signals could be bad for the right side especially if it does not go back to the normal position after making a turn and the steering wheel rotates back to it's normal position but the turn signal lever does not click back to the center position this would burn out that side from the signal constantly being on good luck stephen

Front replace signal

The tool to do the job is located in the rear cargo area under the door covering the spare etc. Undo the velcro strap holding down the tools on the right. Here look for an "L" shaped tool with what looks like an allen key handle attached to it. Once located, open the engine compartment and right behind each headlight, locate a plastic oblong cover with two lock pictures and an arrow on it. Push down on the front of it, which makes it flip up and allows you access to a nut that the tool goes over. You may need a flashlight to see the nut as it is approx. 5 inches down. Once the tool is attached, use the movable lever for leverage and turn as directed on the plastic cap you removed. This starts the whole headlamp assembly moving forward. Only move the lever enough to allow the light assembly to move just enough for you to physically grip and slide the light out. Leave the lever in place as you have to use it to slide the light back in. Once the light assembly is out, on the back you'll see various accesses to the lights. When reinstalling the light assembly look on the bottom of it and guide the long black fins into their narrow channels and push the light assembly in place. Now turn the lever tool pulling the light assembly in place, here's the tricky part, you need to turn it hard enough to hear a loud click. It almost seems like you're going to break something, but then it clicks. You may want to gently push on the light assembly as you do this. This tells you the lamp assembly is now locked back in place. Good luck.

Problem with right turn signal lever not resetting and turning off right signal after turning corner

You will probably need to remove the steering wheel which means disconnecting the air bag. Not recommended for owners without experience.
There is a ring around the shaft that pushes the switch arm back to center that is probably broken.

I have a 2002 pontiac aztek. My rear right signal/brake lamp does not work. When i signal left, the front and rear left lights flash normally. When i signal right, the front right light flashes normally...

as for the faster flashing thats as simple as a blown bulb, replace the bulb and see if that fixes the problem, it may fix the lot because the other symptoms you mention are a bad connection, if bulb is fine check the connection isnt loose or corroded over. if it is simply file it back to establish better connectivity,

Jaguar xj6 break light cancels signal

Replace the turn signal switch. Bad contact inside causing a crossing of the circuits. When the turn signal is applied it should open the brake light circuit allowing for just the signal to work. Doesn't sound like the switch is doing it's job.

Intermittent clicking sound

This is a fairly common problem on the '04 Grand Am.  I recently fixed the problem on mine.  The problem is in the contacts inside the multifunction switch which is comprised of the turn signal lever and windshield wiper level.  If you remove the plastic covering around the stearing wheel (simple just a few hex head screws) you can see the multifunction switch directly ontop of the steering column.  Remove the screw holding it in place and disconnect the several wires in the back.  The whole unit will come right out, you can take in your house and fix the rest.  If you open it up - there several screws required to do this - you will see copper contacts where the turn signal lever touches to indicate its position (left right or off).  Clean this off well with a damp paper towel to remove the grease and reapply some dielectric grease to the contacts.  Put everything back together and you should be click-free!  The problem seems to be that over time the contacts wear down and arching can occur between the contacts, thus confusing your turn signal clicker and allowing it to click at random times.  Cleaning it out gets rid of any metal fragments in the grease and the new grease will act to prevent the arching.
