Front of the motor, left side(right side front if your standing in front of the car looking to the rear) If you look at the transmission housing you'll see a bump where the gear engages the flywheel.

If it's the 1.6 motor then 94 to 96 corolla take that starter only. But if it's a 1.8 motor then 94 to 97 take that starter and also geo prizm 94 to 97 takes that starter

94 toyota estima no dash lights no power changed the battery an still nothing


Check your cables neg to engine block, positive to starter. Spark, fuel, oxygen needed to start. You ruled out battery, next place after cables is your starter.

Install starter motor on 94 corrolla


the starter is located at the rear of the engine
diss connect the pos side of the battery
jack up the car and use jack stands for safety

with a light of flash light look up behind the motor from under the car
you will need a wrench size #12 metric for wire the other wire is just a
clip on

you will need a #14 wrench or socket for the bottom starter bolt

from the top of the engine drivers side look down to the starter bolt
you will need a # 14 wrenck to loosen and a socket #14 with a long extension
move wire harness out of you way just a little so you can get the socket on it have somone help you with this have your helper hold the starter from the bottom while you take out the bolt

when the starter is loose it will come out of that mess if you move to the right and pull the plastic guard to the side a little

Any starter on most cars is located on the transmission casing, if you can't immediatly locate the starter on the front of the engine, it is probably located on the back under the intake manifold

disconnect the battery then there are 2 14mm bolts on trans side then go under car and there is a 14mm nut then the wires need removed i think one is clipped in and the other may be 13mm

i had the same problem on my 94 toy pickup all i did was go to the dealer and got some copper contacts that go on the starter it cost me about 25 bucks and i pulled it and replaced it myself easy fix.

Where is the starter located?


underneath the bottom of the engine next to the flywheel look at the positive side of the battery and follow that battery cable down to the starter
