My car shuddered and shut off several times. What could that be? At first we thought it was the belt that needed to be tightened and lubed, but now we aren't so sure.

Fuel level is the first thing i would look at.

Fuel what?
Fuel level as in gas? Its on a full tank
It was actually the catalytic converters. There are 3 on my car and all 3 were clogged. Also, I went and borrowed an OBD II scanner and ran it. The knock sensor 1 and the ERG(EGR??) is messing up. Thanks for all your help !! I thought it was pretty funny that Autozone and those other places say you cant use and OBD II scanner on a 95, well, I had it figured out in about 5 minutes. I felt pretty good.
