No. the clicking is a relay being opened and closed rapidly due to the electrical current being sent thru the system. this should not ever happen. it is a sign that you have a short on that side of the vehicle. generally it indicates that the ground wire coming from the battery is contacting the body somewhere. inspect that wire and tape any bare spots.
