Have a techn check gauge, wiring lastly, float in tank attached to fuel pump. This could get a little pricy.

What would cause the fuel gauge to stop working

It's possible the guage has died, or your fuel level sender has died, or become stuck. You could check the connection on the back of the guages.

Fuel gauge and temperature gauge do not work

More than one guage not working is usually a power problem. Check your owner's manual for the fuse locations for the guages. If the fuse is good, my next choice would be to check all the grounds from your battery to your engine and then the ground to the body. Hope this helps.

Changed the battery in my 2000 chevy cavalier and all the dashboard guages stopped workinng seems like a fuse, but which one?

Most guages are picky about the power polarity. are you sure you hooked the battery cables onto the right battery posts? If so, then proceed to the fuse box. the lid or door to the fuse box usually has a listing of the fuses. Instraments or Gauges is what you are probably looking for...

My chevy cavalier 2005, the speedometer and temperature gauge stopped working. I'm not sure whats wrong and don't want to get ripped off at the dealers. Please help if there is something I can check...

Is the ck engine light on If so take to a auto parts store that will ck the car for codes and that will tell you if the speed sensor is working or not> If the speed sensor is not working the ck engine light will be on and the car will have stored that code.If there are no codes that it is most likely the cluster for the speedometer not working . Now the temperature guage not working is the needle spunaround backwards past the stop If so that replace the cluster .If not than it needs to be ckd for a bad tempature sensor. This should also set a code and turn the ck engine light.

There is a Fuse inside the Box inside the Car and a Relay in the Fuse Box under the Hood, Bothare for the Guages. They will say "Guages" or "Cluster"

Chevy cavalier 2005 speedometer stuck not working

That Cluster will work But, You will have to get an Installation kit if you want the Tach to work. Everything else will hook up the Same. You have a Distribution Box (Fuse Box) Under the Hood on the Drivers Side, There is a Fuse in it for the Speedo. Inside the Cover to the Box is the Fuse Diagram or in the Back of the Owners Manual.

Starting problems

It sounds like a fuel pressure problem. Does it start hard after it is warmed up or only when it is first started cold? Do you have access to a fuel pressure guage?
