Question about 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
I am having trouble replacing the oil filter on my 2004 cavalier. I believe I have the location but cannot get the cap off. No oil filter wrench seems to be the right size.
On my 1997 and 2000 Cavalier the filter in on the right rear side of the engine. After getting angry at garages trying to get away with not changing the filter, I now change my own oil. The best way to reach the oil filter on the '97 and '00 is from the top. There is no space for the best style wrench, so one hand will have to do it. I use a rubber grip made for opening jars around the kitchen. Takes the filter right off. Of course when you put the new filter on snug it up bare handed.

Don't you hate when those gorillas put that thing on there so tight you need a come along to get it off.? You only need it finger tight, it isn't going anywhere. The best way to get at it is with one of those wrenches that grab the filter and the harder you turn, the tighter it gets. Hope this helps.
